I read the book to. Yes the ending was bittersweet because Anna hits the sack, but Kate lives on. The movie can't do that but later today I'm wathching it so it had better be good.

This was a very sad/beautiful movie. When Kate showed her mom the photo album she made the day she died, I was crying. But compared to the book this movie was a major disapontment. They took out the whole part in the book about Jesse starting all the fires in the old shacks. They also changed the ending in the movie. The book ending was unexpected and bittersweet. But I like how it was a surprise. The books ending was sad! The movies ending was no surprise at all. But it was still a good movie.

I saw this movie when it first came out....i didnt read the book...but im sure the book is way better. but i cried so hard. my grandpa had lukemia & he was my father figure.. and he had the same type of cancer she had....GREAT MOVIE
