Im sure glad they spent money on some good talent at this gig. If they had to rely on these guys..there would have been a riot for sure....they sound absolutely horrible
Quill were a great band. I saw them twice (2 nights in a row) at the Rock Pile in Toronto and really enjoyed them. Roger had a tom over his bass drum that was conventional on top but expanded and curved forward on the bottom portion. It looked like the bell of a horn. Like a gunshot! Hard to stand in front of. I have often told people that I'd seen the only unknown band at Woodstock. Look at the poster and you say, "WOW! Big names, but who's Quill?" :)
@ifhgsfj Oh, gosh no. When I went to see them, I'd never heard of them and, of course, knew nothing of their material. But I dug them enough to go back and catch the second night. No idea what they played. It was 30 years ago!
I love Quill, they're my third favorite band behind Mountain and the Beatles. I sent an email to Jon Cole, the guy in the blue shirt here, and turns out he reinvented himself as a solar energy expert. Anyway, just thought out I'd point out some inaccurate information. The song in this video is called "Driftin'", not "They Live The Life". "They Live The Life" is the song with the percussion solo. "That's How I Eat" is the one with the standard blues changes and the keyboard solo.

@JimBozeman1956 It exists, but some idiots don't want to release it for whatever reason.

@JimBozeman1956 Because the weather was so fucked up the camera equipment was kinda fucked up as well at that point.

Great album too--the one on Cotillion--the same little label that brought you ELP and Mr. Flood's Party
