I went up to Pressmen's Home yesterday, what an amazing place. I've lived in TN for 11 years and I don't think I've EVER DRIVEN ON A PARKWAY! As soon as 94 comes out into the open valley, the road splits and you find yourself on a gorgeous tree lined parkway with colorful rolling hills on one side and what look likes a golf course on the other side. It was a fun weekend experience for sure!
My Grandparents used to live there, and my Father lived there as a child. My Grandfather was trained as a pressman there and is shown at the 3 minute mark setting type. I used to swim in the swimming pool and visit on the banks of the lake with family friends. I used to go there for a week during summer vacations. I still love the smell of an old time printing press. GREAT MEMORIES !
@Napalmdog I remember when it was a thrivng place. Can remember when people liked to go there and have fun and relax.Hotel was open then and people liked to fish in the lake and go horseback riding or just have a picnic.
are people allowed to go up to pressmans home?
