1st off these videos prove nothing for the performance of the quads. its all rider skill, and winning 1 race means nothing (honda rider got a better jump that race). the outlaw would win in almost every condition other than trailing, read what the pros have to say. those guys actually know how to ride and have a good clue on what theyre talking about. people who use these kind of videos as proof of anything are just morons.
@cmentalppl mls? and no that is def not a fact. the 700xx does 74mph out of the factory. i can photocopy 3 different articles out of 3 different magazines if you need some professional proof.
Who cares I just bought a hold over 08' 700xx new out the door for $5200! It is very fast, the suspension is EXTREMELY plush on trails AND jumping. I am very happy with it. And no matter what any of you say I truely think Honda is still on top for reliability. Always has been always will be.
@alburd1 too plush jumping i bottom out in whoops man u needa ride harder and ull know wat people r talkin about. its fast as shit tho i smoke everyone
you guys should have took this to the pavement. 700xx ways alot more so its hookin better and the outlaw should throw a 14 tooth on there way better acceleration than see what happens
the dumbass on the 700 should get a real exhuast for the quad not a gsxr or watever exhaust. and he should learn to sit when goin that fast hes like standing up and ducking haha
I do have new exhaust actually. I have a Yoshimura slip on and its picked up NOTICEABLE torque. It's solved some other issues I was having as well. The GSXR exhaust didn't give it any back pressure. Oh, and i'm short enough that even though i was sitting down - it looks like i was standing up. I get shit for it all the time.
The website I just looked at said an 08 outlaw weighed 425. Regardless, there is more than one video that he has of this with the same ending. We'll be racing on hard dirt or concrete next time - stay tuned.
hmmm strange. i got my numbers from the manufacturers site and other magazines back that up ( 395 dry ). maybe that outlaw is a lemon, but all the ones i saw are beasts. then again it could be in jetting other than sprockets obviously. i'm not saying a 700xx runs bad at all it's just from what i seen an outlaw do this kinda shocks me. dirt wheels did a shootout between the two and obviously they rag on polaris all the time so i don't trust them at all.
They're both fast bikes and I think that IRS is going to find its home in sport quads. These things are even better on the trails than just drag racing. If all I did was drag race, i wouldn't have bought this quad.
haha yeah no doubt. i woulda got an outlaw at the time when i got predator but they were pretty expensive and i got a predator new real cheap..$5200 for an 07. there are way too many people out there that rag on IRS but after feeling the ride there is no comparison. people say they aren't good for going fast but i'd like to know who goes real fast in tight woods and what not?
i go real fast in the woods dumbass. i ride as hard as i can without flipping or hitting a tre. thats how u race gncc retttttttttttaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaard
the irs is just as fast as the non irs well irs is a lilll slower but not much of a difference. ive beaten many quads with non irs like the raptor 700 for instance. also the top end speed is about the same for irs and non irs
you trash talking teenagers are just that....trash talking, you speak from steroetypes and have no clue about reality
i'm sorry but i'm not going to argue with a 15 year old. grow up. i actually been riding since i was 5 years old and drag race my quad in 300ft dirt drags. come back when you have some experience
@ababyduck1337 remeber the out law is dry is with no rims, no battery, no seat... so add 30ib to the outlaw dry wight... then gass is 8.5 pound a gallon oil is 2 pounds a quart... coolant is 8.7 pounda a gallon... so after ur dont the outlaw is 450ish... still lighter than a wet rappy...
hmmm i'd say its obvious that the outlaw would be beat when the gearing for the outlaw is set up for top speed and not acceleration. this race is obviously unfair. that's like taking a 450 with a 13 tooth and draggin a 350 with a 15 tooth. of course the larger displacement will crush the smaller one. besides honda's extra CC's don't mean anything when it weighs 100 pounds more than the outlaw in a fair competition.
what? the outlaw 525 weighs 395lbs dry...3 gallons of gas weighs a little over 17 pounds so subtract that from 505 and you get 487 plus maybe a couple pounds from oil and radiator coolant but you're still looking at 470-480 pounds and that's being generous for a dry weight. ok 90 lbs more generously in terms of dry weight. seriously my predator with just a pipe, filter, and jetting can do smoke a piped raptor 700. being the outlaw is faster than both i doubt it would have trouble w/ a 700xx
when they mean wet it has like 3 gallons of gas other fluids and theres more stuff than just the gas and fluids it has on it. for the predator for dry weight they take out a lot when they weigh it in for dry weight. the trx700xx is about 455 dry. oh btw ive ridden my cousins raptor 700 and compared it to mine i think the 700xx has a lot more torque because of the irs. just my opinion but your probably gonna have a harder time with 700xxs than raptor 700s
well the honda has a higher compression than the raptor but the bore and stroke are the same. um i don't know about the honda's gearing but i think raptors run 14/38 or something like that.
i haven't came across a quad with the same mods as my predator that can tear me a new asshole. i really think the predator is definately in the top 5 fastest stock sport quad ever built.
well when you ride a 700xx you can DEFINITELY tell the difference between power in the 700xx and the predator. idk you should ride a 700xx it has a lot of potential. when i was going to go buy a new quad i had my mind set on the predator 525 irs. but when i got there they told me all about the 700xx and that it had a lot of power. also i got to test drive both of them and i just had to go with the 700xx. it was the predator except upgraded and a bit heavier.
raptor 700 dry is 395. 700XX has a claimed wet weight of 505lbs. 3 gallons of gas weighs around 17 lbs depending on temp...plus there is oil, coolent, etc....so we'll say 20-25lbs off.
That's around 470-480 dry, a massive 75-85lb difference which is HUGE when it comes to quads.
I'm sorry but i find it midly ironic that everybody ragged on polaris when they brought IRS on a sport quad, now honda has it and all of a sudden IRS is succesful
im not irs has always bin beater for trales. ur right a bout the raptor the xx is 455 dry. 3 gallons .8 reserve 2 gallon ccoolant. idk how much oil the xx has to much i would remove everything exept for fenders just like the banshhee stock. have u riden an xx or raptor befor
now the king of draggs a banshee that no augument. and it it the most popular bike used by dragers.
dirt wheels, atv action/sport magazine all rutin for polaris. one thing that proves it is onec the said the scrmbler 500 was faster than the renegade 500 and that the polaris singal a arm front and sway bar rear was a more smother and beater setup for trails.
depends on how much you got into the banshee....most banshees at my track get KILLED in 300 feet. 450s are the most popular in my area probably because of the GNCC style conditions.
i road my cousins GYTR raptor 700...not hard though...i sat on a 700xx....seat is hard as a rock compared to the raptor. my predator is a freaking cadiallac compared to both lol.
@prowler10393 not even close they have preload and rebown... all of the 450s shock have preload, rebone, hi speed comp, and low speed comp... and the ktm 450 has the most travel
as far as dirt wheels claming polaris to be better i'd like to read up on the scrambler vs renegade shootout cause it's very rare that dirt wheels rates polaris ahead.
i happen to own an 08 scrambler, and let me tell you it doens't handle worth a shit. it's fast out off the line and that's about it. 60 MPH or around that top speed. trail riding it's awesome, and it doens't cost 10 grand.
thes one in the december 08 but it also with a 450 differnt but that one dose is fair the admite that the renigade dose 70 my buds got to 75 on stocks
the 700xx does have more torque its no ones opion its the facts .i wish the magazines werent little bitches and would post top speed 0-60 torque and hp numbers. take that rapotor bitches ur 50 pounds lighter dammmmmmmn got me there
get off da joint boy. the 700 xx is geard for speed witha 14 front and 35 rear ass whip. with is like hiving a 15 front and 36 frar so sut the fuck up

@ps3dethman1 your an idiot no stock quad does 74 mph in 300ft that's like a 4.4 or 4.5 it takes about an 80hp quad to pull that mph in 300ft

That outlaw doesn't weigh 100 pounds more. It weighs 425 DRY. I'm 505 WET. Add fluids and theres only about 50lbs difference.

14/35 is the same as 15/36?
wow you're great at math, 1 tooth larger in the front means the same as 2 in the rear.....
YOU shut the fuck up. these 700xx's are in the same class as the KFX 700, heavy and don't handle worth a shit
and just so you know power to weight + gearing is the true determing factors in acceleration/top speed
the 700xx is too heavy, has more drivetrain loss through the IRS, and geared too tall for the power.
like every honda, it has to modified to compete

I drag race and the only modifcations to my quad are jetting, pipe, and CAI. Stock everything else and I do pretty good.
And just so you know, there are alot of guys that drag race highly built HPD scrambler 400s that run automatics with 11 sec 1/4 mile times.
You put a 700xx on anything besides trails in stock form and it will fail hardcore. ALL magazine tests proved this.
The quad is merely a good trail quad. Nothing more, nothing less.
