Wow. Compare this speech for *third* place with Mccain's speech. Edwards is passionate, direct and on message. Mccain is reading a script written by a committee and delivering it impotently and with seemingly no conviction. As far as the Patriot act goes, he didn't author anything...he did sign in approval of it...but he was not really given the chance to read it in-depth beforehand. He was given the "gist" of its purpose by his workers and signed for it...and has since come out against it once given the time to properly research it.

Thanks elcrowing, I will look into it and revise my decisions. Yet, even if what you have stated is the case, I still find discerning from a leadership perspective for someone to allow such serious decisions to be handled in haste, by staff members, and against ones own beliefs. Reading legislation is something I expect my legislature to do, and expect of my presidential choice as well. And these are just concerns, I still hold Edwards in higher stature than most of the other candidates.
