@elmersglue82 Well all of our arguments seem to boil down to this one, now. That the aliens are the same, but with different relations to humans. This is not so.
Mass effect draws inspiration from more of a blade runner world, Halo has little to do with it. You cannot talk to an Elite because they would have nothing to say, not because the story does not afford it. There are Halo novels, too. They are there to show the characters in a deeper way then the games. Elites are still as shallow.

Not the protheans The universes are fairly different also. Mass effect shows political relations between space faring races, and the alliances forged around their species traits and characteristics. Halo however only names new species to diversify targets.

Basically, in Mass Effect, they should know each other well enough at this point whereas the covenant and all the alien races with it shouldn't be entirely.
Characterization is very parallel perfect except their relationships that differs. Their relationship is more like that of Star Wars whereas they pretty much KNOW each other and would even share drinks and have conversations with each other. In HALO, they didn't had such introductions and are rather complete enemies to humanity and causing our extinction.
I short, it's only a matter of RELATIONS that differentiates them

I wasn't trying to attack the writing skills of Bungie, however even in the movements of old half jaw or the arbiter, the elites will always act as religious warriors. there is nothing else really to them. Sure they share a military devotion with turians, but their structures and hierarchy and even general approach are so different you could fit the Nile in-between.

@elmersglue82 Mass effects style is actually tighter to the body, the shoulder plates rest on the shoulders in a more naval style, the chest piece is toned metal as opposed to a harness block, the cod piece extends to the stomach on Shepard whereas its a ring on MC's, The leg plating may be similar, but it's difficult to differentiate that sort of thing. Helmets look completely different. Please tell me how they look the same?
Take a look at mass effect armours again. Then say that.

Characterization is very parallel perfect except their relationships that differs. Their relationship is more like that of Star Wars whereas they pretty much KNOW each other and would even share drinks and have conversations with each other. In HALO, they didn't had such introductions and are rather complete enemies to humanity and causing our extinction.
I short, it's only a matter of RELATIONS that differentiates them

I wasn't trying to attack the writing skills of Bungie, however even in the movements of old half jaw or the arbiter, the elites will always act as religious warriors. there is nothing else really to them. Sure they share a military devotion with turians, but their structures and hierarchy and even general approach are so different you could fit the Nile in-between.

@Fefedefefessle Clearly you do not play both and is just bringing down HALO when the realization is the fact they are blatantly the same. Even your fail attempts to differentiate them is juxtaposed in irony such as "but their structures and hierarchy and even general approach are so different" when in reality they are basically the same. Their motives, tactics and mentality are set exactly the same(code of honor).
Difference being their set difference in terms of RELATIONSHIPS.

The hunters. Giant, mute and religious worms in armour plates carrying fuel rod guns. The face of a collector is a large triangle, whereas the hunters resembles necromantic Irish dragons. Your saying they're similar from the view that only what you've seen exists. There are thousands of concepts out there that can be placed in the gap between the collectors and the hunters.

Both the Collectors and The Flood are actually ancient parasitic creatures that has been around for as long as anyone could remember and the most ancient, evil and crazed enemy(depicted as demons). Both The Flood and the Collectors are BOTH identified with mythology. In fact some don't believe until they are seen. Also as you said "a mythical species from destruction" which BOTH are like this

@elmersglue82 Turians actually reflect roman stratigies, which is evident in ship names, planet names, and model design. Elites are far poorer in construct. they are religious lizard things, and that is all we know. Turians are well written, and actually have depth to species. You can see a turian act differently, as humans do. however an Elite whether heretic or Covenant is a religious soldier with a brain only to kill.

Shepard=Master chief. One of a kind soldier, ordered around.... compared to Shepard. Shepard leads a team, and has resources. Master chief does not. Yes, they are both Space marines... but shepard is different to MC.

In fact, they would like all other race at this HALO/Star Wars mixed game would, mingle as for they don't have the hardship relationship as the brutes do with humans. Basically, the Krogans are perfect ideal depictions of Brutes had we known them as just people rather than our relentless executioners due to a WAR.

@elmersglue82 The concept of a space soldier was well established. Halo is the discovery story of great powers left by ancients. Mass effect is the attempts at defeating what is thought to be a mythical species from destruction. Forerunner, covenant and Flood are all well known. Reapers are not.

@elmersglue82 The armour. I laughed at this bit. whereas you've made fair assumptions up until this point, this was not one of those. Shepard has kinetic barriers. MC has the overused space shields, as we've seen dozens of times before. Sure on the face of it there is little difference between these types.... but then again all of this stuff is rip-offs of earlier products like blade runner and star trek.
The armour styles are vastly different. have you seen them, at all?

@elmersglue82 Mass effects style is actually tighter to the body, the shoulder plates rest on the shoulders in a more naval style, the chest piece is toned metal as opposed to a harness block, the cod piece extends to the stomach on Shepard whereas its a ring on MC's, The leg plating may be similar, but it's difficult to differentiate that sort of thing. Helmets look completely different. Please tell me how they look the same?
Take a look at mass effect armours again. Then say that.

By all means the costume are perfect and kick ass, however I find the acting a bit off with all the strange movements :S Does Shepard have a curved (forward) back or is it just me?
But then again, who am I to say that? As I don't know what goes through your head once you stand on the stage in cosplay.
