Being that it is made under the banner of Disney, I don't think there are going to be much redeeming features. The picture of Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter is just horrible. Don't get me wrong Depp is a great actor but this is too rediculous.

I think this will stick close to the material. Like McGee, this is a sequel. It will certainly be more accurate in tone than the Disney film (though that one is good in its own way). Being a Tim Burton fan, I have every confidence that I'll be blown away.

Wow, lack of accuracy much? If it weren't bad enough that Disney screwed up the original Alice movie by combining both books, Tim has gone and done it again. The White Queen isn't part of Wonderland. She's from the Looking-Glass House. I love Tim, but innacuracy in movies is so annoying.

wrong. if you read lewis carrol's actual novel, the red and white queens are there. ahe meets the red queen after alice meets the mock turtle and the white queen after tweedledee and tweedledum. your baseing your knolage off of the numerous adaptions and the disney version. read the book.

I am not basing this off of visual adaptations, perhaps I read a shorter version of wonderland and through the looking glass. But according the versions that I read, Alice meets the Queen of Hearts after the Mock Turtle and the Gryphon, not the Red and White Queen. The Red and White Queen were featured in the Looking Glass House/World which has many allusions to chess.

Third, I know these books very well, I have read classic versions and versions written for storybooks. Most adaptations merge the queen of hearts and the red queen, but they are two completely different characters. Any Alice fan could tell you that.
