  • @TodA51 you guys keep taking what I said the wrong way. I'm not excusing the behavior of the audience, but it was to be expected.

  • i was expecting for some yelling. but there's none. what did she say at 0:23 btw?

  • @chil182 "It's a huge campus, it's awesome here, I love it here. Go somewhere else. " Is what she says just before, and right at :23 is "Go somewhere else."

  • @RomaTomatoe ooh gee, thanks :D

    hehe regina's so cool XD

  • If that's yelling than she must talk in a whisper.

  • she sounds like my social studies teacher, but way cuter and not a dude. luv ya ReSpekt!

  • uh ohhhh a little bit of a breaking of character from her "poor little ol' me" stage persona...who knows maybe she just gets annoyed like everyone else

  • Who the fuck would talk while she's singing that's just stupid!

  • you DON'T talk when she's singing! She's so cool telling them to shut up ^^

  • i wish she would say shut up at every concert haha, cause theres always stupid poeple that are way to loud.

  • wooo was totally at this concert and i'm so glad she told those fuckers to shut up.

  • omg I LOVE HER

  • those f**kfaces should be honoured she's singing for them, still she keeps being so polite about it. she's divine..

  • Haha! You go Regina!

  • what the hell, what stupid fucking rude ass people would be talking anyways .

  • I guess this is Regina's version of going gangsta! LOL. She should have said "I'll bust a cap in your ass!"

  • i would not call that 'yelling'

  • lol, I love her... I love how she told them to shut up, but made it nice.

  • haha, she got them all quiet XD love it!

  • I was at this show and I thought it was great how she handled the crowd :)

  • AWESOME <3

  • You TELL 'em, Reggie Spek!

  • Oh. I love how she sorta kinda gets mad. She would be a fantstic mother!

  • that is just funny

  • Isn't this utterly fatuous? She was hired to perform indeed, but that gives her the right to tell off anyone who is interfering with her performance and who is blocking the rest of the audience from hearing properly. This was not a club where an audience can talk through a performance. People paid money to hear the songs.

  • if you're regina spektor, you can say whatever you want to the audience.

  • I feel sorry for you if you don't appreciate an artist telling the talkers to quiet down so people WHO PAID good money to watch them can get their money's worth.

That's the attitude of the artist I PRAY for when I see a live show; one who will care enough and have the guts to do what's right and tell the disrupters (there are ALWAYS talkers) to shut up so I can enjoy what I came, and usually paid, for.

  • @MelaniePortrip this particular show cost 7 dollars.

  • @PromBurner87

    Your point?

  • @MelaniePortrip the point is that nobody at that show paid "good money", so of course there were a lot of people who didn't really care about her in attendance. It was something to do on campus that night.

  • @PromBurner87

That makes very little sense. People still paid to be there and see her. Why pay to be disrespectful and talk during someone's show? Why not just leave if they didn't feel they'd paid good money and found they didn't like her? Even if it were free, they were still wrong and didn't have to be there. Yes it was something to do on campus, so why not "do" it and be the quiet audience they were supposed to be?

  • @PromBurner87

It's just really disrespectful to the artist performing. The artist is just calling them out on their rude behavior.

  • this was fantastic

  • good on her!

  • srsly guys, stfu and let reggie talk.

  • if they wanted to talk they really should've gone somewhere else. they could've hung out just outside if they really wanted to, why show up to a concert if you're not interested in listening? i don't think she was being snotty, she was relatively polite.

  • don't ever stand by me at a show. buy the cd and talk in your car if you want. don't waste my money; i paid to hear the performer - not your stupid ass.

  • The conduct of the audience should be dictated not only by the venue but the tone of the music and type of performer. If you're at a show where a single person is singing and playing piano and you behave as if you're at a loud rock show where your voice is drowned out by the band, you are sadly out of sync with your environment. If you go to the beach to get a tan and it starts raining when you get there do you put sunscreen on anyway?

  • Not to mention that how much money she made is none of your business. When you hire someone to perform they don't become your slave for the night. Obviously it was your decision to talk. It was just the wrong decision.

  • She is there to perform for them, not to sit there and hear their conversations or just play over all the noise. Go into her shoes, example if you were doing an oral and everyone was screaming and talking and throwing paper airplanes around, you would try to shut them up so you can start. Same thing with her. If the people paid to go see her, they obviously didnt mind and some even cheered. think about what you say before saying it next time.

  • This is the only thing that I've heard her say like this so she obviously felt an overwhelming need. She is so sweet.

  • I admit I am totally in love with Regina, but even so I don't think she was being rude. She was just asking for what she needed to give people a great show. She's not a big band, she's not Dave Matthews where a bunch of frat guys go get drunk and yell and talk. You wouldn't go to a play, or a recital, and sit and talk loudly enough for the audience or performers to hear you. Same idea.

  • imagine how would you feel if you were trying to sing a song and people talk so loud that you on the stage can hear it, it is very disrespectful

  • She's actually one of the most professional performers out there. Why wouldn't you ask people to be quiet? She's trying to sing, and I'm sure its incredibly distracting to have people blabbing the whole time.

  • she is such a sweetie, i would shut up for her.

  • i also heard that she has really sensitive hearing as well, so people talking so close to the stage is really distracting for her. i'm really glad she told them to shut their faces :)

  • haha I was in the front row. those assholes really needed to shut up. thanks regina

  • shes awesome. she really likes this song.

  • was in the front row also with whale harpoon. I felt like she told them to be quiet for us.haha like she knew we wanted to listen..haha

  • Seriously, I even heard a couple girls behind me call her "bitch" when she didn't play "Fidelity" before her encore. What a bunch of jokers.

  • Why? why are people so dumb? it's a good song and all, but my god, you never ever call Regina Spektor a bitch, ever! It's untrue and impossible.

  • that was meant for the comment about girls calling her a bitch for not playing fidelity, btw...

  • i was there in front, i was so disgusted with the audience. why come to a concert if all you're going to do is talk?!

  • I was, too! I was so angry that those people wouldn't shut up...even after she said something. so disrespektful.

  • i was one of the quiet ones in the front wanting to listen, and she made me really happy when she told off the noisy people towards the back. they were really lame.
