@chil182 "It's a huge campus, it's awesome here, I love it here. Go somewhere else. " Is what she says just before, and right at :23 is "Go somewhere else."
uh ohhhh a little bit of a breaking of character from her "poor little ol' me" stage persona...who knows maybe she just gets annoyed like everyone else

I can understand where's she's coming from, but it seems like she thinks she has a sense of authority over everyone else in the room...despite the fact that she was HIRED to perform
Isn't this utterly fatuous? She was hired to perform indeed, but that gives her the right to tell off anyone who is interfering with her performance and who is blocking the rest of the audience from hearing properly. This was not a club where an audience can talk through a performance. People paid money to hear the songs.
I feel sorry for you if you don't appreciate an artist telling the talkers to quiet down so people WHO PAID good money to watch them can get their money's worth.
That's the attitude of the artist I PRAY for when I see a live show; one who will care enough and have the guts to do what's right and tell the disrupters (there are ALWAYS talkers) to shut up so I can enjoy what I came, and usually paid, for.
@MelaniePortrip the point is that nobody at that show paid "good money", so of course there were a lot of people who didn't really care about her in attendance. It was something to do on campus that night.
That makes very little sense. People still paid to be there and see her. Why pay to be disrespectful and talk during someone's show? Why not just leave if they didn't feel they'd paid good money and found they didn't like her? Even if it were free, they were still wrong and didn't have to be there. Yes it was something to do on campus, so why not "do" it and be the quiet audience they were supposed to be?
if they wanted to talk they really should've gone somewhere else. they could've hung out just outside if they really wanted to, why show up to a concert if you're not interested in listening? i don't think she was being snotty, she was relatively polite.

Umm,I'm sorry but when a group of people pays you to perform for them, you don't go and tell them what to do with your music. Especially if it is in the Standing Room Only environment, which yields itself to hanging out with your friends and conversing with them (Something I always do at a concert). This was our spring concert and it was our decision to talk. It was very rude of the performer to tell us how to react to her performance, one that she made a lot of money on.
don't ever stand by me at a show. buy the cd and talk in your car if you want. don't waste my money; i paid to hear the performer - not your stupid ass.
The conduct of the audience should be dictated not only by the venue but the tone of the music and type of performer. If you're at a show where a single person is singing and playing piano and you behave as if you're at a loud rock show where your voice is drowned out by the band, you are sadly out of sync with your environment. If you go to the beach to get a tan and it starts raining when you get there do you put sunscreen on anyway?
Not to mention that how much money she made is none of your business. When you hire someone to perform they don't become your slave for the night. Obviously it was your decision to talk. It was just the wrong decision.
She is there to perform for them, not to sit there and hear their conversations or just play over all the noise. Go into her shoes, example if you were doing an oral and everyone was screaming and talking and throwing paper airplanes around, you would try to shut them up so you can start. Same thing with her. If the people paid to go see her, they obviously didnt mind and some even cheered. think about what you say before saying it next time.
I admit I am totally in love with Regina, but even so I don't think she was being rude. She was just asking for what she needed to give people a great show. She's not a big band, she's not Dave Matthews where a bunch of frat guys go get drunk and yell and talk. You wouldn't go to a play, or a recital, and sit and talk loudly enough for the audience or performers to hear you. Same idea.

It was a very unprofessional thing to do. I was there. I wasn't talking. I was more thrown by her snotty yelling than by the talking. Seriously, she did it over and over again. She even had the coordinators start the concert by asking the audience to be quiet. I used to like her music. Now it just reminds me of a snob.
She's actually one of the most professional performers out there. Why wouldn't you ask people to be quiet? She's trying to sing, and I'm sure its incredibly distracting to have people blabbing the whole time.
i also heard that she has really sensitive hearing as well, so people talking so close to the stage is really distracting for her. i'm really glad she told them to shut their faces :)
i was one of the quiet ones in the front wanting to listen, and she made me really happy when she told off the noisy people towards the back. they were really lame.
@TodA51 you guys keep taking what I said the wrong way. I'm not excusing the behavior of the audience, but it was to be expected.

i was expecting for some yelling. but there's none. what did she say at 0:23 btw?
