  • I'm in 6 grade and I have to play the variation for my boards and it is sooo hard I can't do it for nothing but you played it really well

  • once i realized how its supposed to sound idk if i can go to my solo in an hour :O

  • i have to play this tomorrow for a solo

  • are you supposed to play the song with or without the variation? Or is it just your choice?

  • Awesome!!!!!! I'm SUBSCRIBING!!!! PERFECT !

  • the variation is hard!

waaah! it's confusing i need help!

  • Nice and relax, I played violin also but seem I better with flute, visit some of my video :o)

  • Thanks for watching. I like your videos too.

  • i'm playing this piece on clarinet for my solo contest (:

    that was beautiful :D

  • Thanks for watching. Good luck on your solo contest. Let me know how it goes.

  • This was so beautiful :)

I'm going to be playing this song for a school audition.

But i doubt i'll sound as good as you :/

  • Good luck with your audition. Thanks for watching.

  • Such a clean sound. You sound really great!

  • Thanks.

  • Beautifully played!

  • Thanks.

  • very well played. I just started working on this song this week, and my playing still has many errors, but I'm sure I'll improve. Just a little comment, your bow glides from side to side a lot, so my teacher would probably say something like try to keep your bow straighter and nearer to the bridge. It'll make for better sound quality.

  • it's so soft - u need to raise the volume a bit.

  • well played, long long ago is one of my most favorite melodies, but i always want to use a violin

  • Thanks.

  • i love the sound of your violin... so warm..

  • It's a viola - so he's playing it an octave lower than you on your violin.

I came looking for this tune so that I can learn it to teach someone who wants to play it on a pennywhistle.

In her book the tune is in the key of F.

I really only play by ear and I'm having to transpose it.

As we are playing whistles in the key of C it would be much easier playing it in the key it's played here.

Nice tune. Nice video. Nice and easy tempo to learn the tune from. Thanks.

  • Thanks for watching. Actually the viola versions for most of these tunes (including this one) is played down a fifth, not an octave. For this one, I am playing in C. The violin version is in G. Good luck with your pennywhistle version. I'd like to hear it.

  • i think mayb you should have done something to make this sound better but still good job

  • Thanks for your comment. I'd be happy to consider any suggestions. The selections toward the beginning of the Suzuki series are actually the most difficult and time consuming for me to record. I try to accurately execute the pitches, rhythms and dynamics as well as to convey a natural phrasing, while trying to avoid doing anything confusing or ideosynchratic. Please let me know if you've noticed any serious flaws or if something is confusing to you.
