Van Morrison "Linden Arden Stole the Highlights" Veedon Fleece

I first heard this on (UK TV's) The Old Grey Whistle Test when it came out and was immediately struck by its beauty (as was their wont in those days, they played a stock film, unconnected with the song, as it played). I didn't catch up with the album for a few years afterwards but was glad when I did.

Linden Arden is ficticious.

"Morrison described the anti-hero Linden Arden as being "about an image of an Irish American living in San Francisco - it's really a hard man type of thing, whilst the latter was a song about what it's like when you absolutely cannot trust anybody. Not as in some paranoia, but in reality."
