Looking at all of the argument below and not wanting to have a drag out argument, it is not about being a disgrace to any race. Perry has said many times that his movies are meant for people to have a laugh, he said Madea is a mixture of people in everyone's family...everyone has that crazy relative, everyone has that relative who is loud, etc and he just rolled them all into Madea... I do not see it that way, as with many of his films, or rather as I see it, he does have the few stereotypes yet he seems to make sure the other characters far outweigh and debunk these stereotypes. Whether we like it or not, there are black women with act like that in real life. We can say he is giving into the stereotype or just admit that fact and look at it as a whole rather than just that part.

If you have looked up Perry past, he actually was going to kill off Madea but said that his mother enjoyed them & asked him not to. Going back & forth will solve nothing, he will make the films as long as people want them. Apparently people still go, so he will still make them. No one is forcing them to go see it.

I do not see it that way, as with many of his films, or rather as I see it, he does have the few stereotypes yet he seems to make sure the other characters far outweigh and debunk these stereotypes. Whether we like it or not, there are black women with act like that in real life. We can say he is giving into the stereotype or just admit that fact and look at it as a whole rather than just that part.

For me, personally, I am an atheist so church is not apart of my life, I do have a very religious family who are very religious who pray for everything and believe prayer works... as perry does. If you wish to not go see the film, then don't. No one is being forced to go see the film, I personally enjoy several of his films. So I watch them. As I said, I see no need for the back and forth, if you do not like it, then do not go see it, simple.

You say that these characters aren't real, but apparently the creators of these shows believe that this is "Black." Likewise with "The Longest Yard." Everytime you see a Black character in that movie you hear rap music, they're cussing, and they even mention what to do and be in order to be "Black," if there is such thing.
