I'm stuck with my old Dendy. Funny thing: a hardware clone can work for 14 years massively while a proprer system die in 3 years? Interesting. Anyway I wasn't lucky like you: my first game was Somari, and Super Mario World 9. In the great land of Hungary (Eastern) that's all we could get: Dendy aka. NES with yellow diskettes. I recommend you a hardware clone: it has many advantages, example: you can play only Japanese territory licensed games (Battle City). Greetings from Hungary!
Back in the day, I had only Mario Bros / Duck Hunt, later i got Chip & Dale, Castlevania III and Punch Out, after that, Faxanadu and Megaman 3. Of course, i played a lot of other games, but those were the one i owned. Just last year, i found SMB3 and said "...why yhe hell not"? And got it....sadly, shortly after, my NES, after a couple of years strugling, stoped working....snif...
Great video, i was never into the nes, when it came out here in the uk, it took ages for games to come out, we also got it after usa and japan, i gave up on it and sold it, the 8 bit pcs, such as c64 and zxspectrum and even the sega master system sold better, i got another nes a couple of years ago with rob, but no longer have it.
Also Shadowgate scared the hell out of me as a kid, I had to have my dad help me half the time, and he was wondering what the hell I was trembling about every damn time I played it. Nowadays it's not so scary I guess, now that we have Resident Evil and Silent Hill and shit, but when you're like 11 years old you get scared more easily.

Megaman was my first game evar. Well actually, it was Spelunker, but that was a piece of crap.
Megaman 3 ftw- best game on the NES!
