Has anyone downloaded this for windows vista yet??I have downloaded Kodu, Uninstalled it, reinstalled it, and repaired it, and STILL it will not launch. When i go through the installer and it finishes. I click on my desktop icon "Kodu Game Lab" and it says: "the Item "Boku.exe" that refers to have been changed or moved so it will no longer work properly." and same thing with all of the other kodu icons. I have noticed that this isnt the application that does this.something wrong w/ windows??

Personally, Im an artist/musician so im not interested in major programming. :D

Awesome game. Search kodu moco on google the first link is the semi-official site theres a gamertag dedicated to being a "server" for uploading and downloading games till a real way comes out. Theres also tutuorials and programing help for anyone whos new or just want to advance there way through the game. Enjoy.

Well it's certainly not a LBP rip but I don't think the people in the video realise that in LBP we have made logic gates so while we're still 2D we can still program dare I say anything we want. To be honest the game makes me think of more of a dumbed down Garry's Mod, if it's not a full blown £40 game then I say kudos to MS.
It's not supposed to be LBP and the parallels that people try to draw between the 2 is kinda silly. LBP is a platformer that allows for user customization and content sharing, whereas Kodu is a visual programming tool to get people interested in game development and the basics of it. So, LBP is a game that allows customization and Kodu is a tool that allows you to make your own games without programming knowledge or experience.
Yeah I think that, as someone who owns LBP, some people fail to realize the amount of logic gate production that goes into quality levels. So I think it's interesting when you're making a level, and you have to create a physical series of events that will trigger things (i.e. the classic perm. switch). In that sense they are both programming, but Kodu is programming by design. That said Kodu does look cool, I wouldn't buy a 360 for it but I'd get it if it came out on PS3. Which it won't

Littlebigplanet is the main reason i got a PS3. And its awesome..

Little big planet actually has you doing something as a 2D platformer, which clearly has better graphics.

It's for PC too, but if you want to check out a great game maker, and something that is much more versatile, check Stencyl out. It's not out, just like this, but there's NO coding required, and if you do know java, that's what it's based on.

now i look at this again i expect i will love this game but i'll still prefer little big planet methinks.
Kodu looks soughta blank because lets be honest most players aren't gonna go into details and only the really good levels will ever stand out -
On little big planet every material is different they do different things they LOOK different when you add stickers on them THAT looked different!! I rekon Kodu will have that....blank look like when you make a creature on spore without details.

ha seeing this does make me think by far that microsoft have truely sunk low can't any company just let another company(sony) have a game which is unique to the console and unique to the entire market! why o why? yes i know its good buissness but the gits are rich enough!!
To be honest yes i will download this and yes i expect it will be halfway as enjoyable as littlebigplanet but seroiusly if you want to make a game use little big planet its hard but rewarding.

What's the problem? Is Microsoft paying to have all the copies of LBP destroyed? No. This gives people who have an Xbox 360 but not a PS3 the chance to try a game like this. I happen to have a PS3 and an Xbox 360 and I love LBP, and when this comes out, I'm sure I'll dig it too.

Yes people who don't have PS3's but want little big planet do need the game but its just a shame that littlebigplanet isn't so exclusive anymore and kodu will probally ruin its market - its like having every game for every console - imagine if halo 3 was on the PS3! it would ruin halo 3's market for and people who don't have xbox 360's (which is few) could stick to a ps3

meh i don't find that believable but even if it is true it puts the game in a worse postion - it has had none advertising if that truely is the case so its not going to be a good game - microsoft don't want people to buy a game which will be crap hence i'm haven't heard of it till revently!

This.. this is proper bullshit. Actually made me laugh... You don't make a fucking game by using a game to create it. You code it from the ground up. This shit is like Game Maker or RPG Maker which I have more respect for since they actually have some sort of fucking coding. Microsoft has sunk to all time low. Of course, it's not going to be something with the most realistic graphics, but that's not really the point.
Also, the comparison to LBP doesn't make sense. They are on different levels.
LBP is a game where you can create your own levels and customize characters. This is specifically designed to create your own game with your own rules.
You'll be able to give characters and objects personalities.
LBP is awesome, too.
