  • I have always wondered how do all those containers stacked up like that do not fall over in that ruff sea? Are they secured to the deck somehow? Man you are living on the edge! Nice!

  • @frezze212 :-) Right, they are fixed to the deck with lashing bars and turn buckles. Twistlocks connect them to each other. Pretty safe when lashing forces aren't exceeded by container weights, even in rough seas..

  • Too much cargo. Ships overloaded

  • @n2motocross no it never was. how do u know?

  • @LarusLaurus It just looks like there is too much cargo. Too top heavy looking

  • @n2motocross ok, thats right.. but there was still enough counterweight in the holds for uprighting her :)

  • @LarusLaurus Do you do this type of work? have you ever been in one of the high seas situations?

  • @n2motocross Yes, I took the vid onboard that vessel, while still in training. Got my nautical officers license now. We had stormy weather several times on atlantic ocean with winds up to force 11

  • @LarusLaurus Man! weren't you scared shitless the First storm you went through. I would have for sure.

  • @n2motocross Wtf, people posting such statements as if they had any clue suck.

  • The crew listens to "Leon" - "The Professional" Original Soundtrack,

    Good tmatch for a storm...

  • I will be at the "OOCL Germany" from November to May ;)

  • @rambotmv wish you a nice voyage, enjoy your stay and greetz to Cpt. Ayre! :)

  • I have a boat license. Can I hire one of these for a day or two?

Only driven a rubber dinghy before...are they hard to drive?

  • I passed this ship when this was filmed in a small aluminiun duckpunt and couldnt believe the big stack of containers. SHIP WAS ROLLING BUT ALL GOOD . WET AND WINDY DAY THOU

  • thanks for the video and description.

can you explain what you explain what this means:

stability (14 ts hom.): 4,185 TEU

  • ive picked up camera cases-hockey equipment- and running shoes from those countainers falling off big ships for years. I lived on vancouver island near a town called Tofino. Many happy memories.

  • Didn't seem to slow you down that much anyway.. Which speed were you doing?

  • We were running at 9 knots for safety reasons due to rough seas as far as I remember, but maybe at the time I've taken the video we were increasing speed again, I guess..

  • Hm interresting, our ship tops 15 but in 30-40 knots of wind she slows down like 6, still full ahead(!)

  • are you watching LEON IN THE BACKGROUND//

  • :D Yes I did! Onboard we watched A LOT of movies, Leon's one of my favourites! :)
