i'll give them credit, this is a little bit better than the first part. but still, i wouldn't buy one. i may buy a proctor quad fang tho...but does anybody know any good east coast shapers? trying to keep it east coast...
I have a surfboard it's about... 6 foot. I'm 13, but it's so hard to stand up on!!! If I put my feet up on the back of the surfboard like I was taught my head is too far forward and when I catch a wave the board and me get pulled forward and get dunked forward. Does anyone have any tips?
he doesnt need a bigger board. he just has to find his sweet spot some of us its harder but once you figure it your good to go, but always know your limitations
whoever taught you to keep your feet on the back of the board obviously didnt know wtf they were talking about. on a short board, your legs WILL be hanging off the back when you paddle out
so just find a different spot further back to lay down on your surfboard.
ya dude, first u dont want to have your foot to far back then u'l pull out of the wave. u want to pop up and make sure your balance in the middle of the board. your back foot should not go in the very back of the board. it should go like 6 inches to a foot away from the back when u are popping up
hahahahaha...wow, a bunch of kooks trying to cash in on surfing with cheap chinese pop outs...how can you people live with yourselves knowing that you're putting REAL shapers and REAL surfers out of business...every cool kid in Arizona will have one...hahahaha....i wish failure upon you soul-less bastards
I feel that these boards are a bit, well, over priced, i got 6'2 seard ahi for my birthday and it doesnt really ride like a 475 dollar board, nock them down to 325
i like the local shapers better because they know how they have to tweak a board to get it to perform on local waves
by the way, if this is one of your team riders... no offence, but you really need to find some better team riders, ive seen groms at newport rip sicker shit then this
plus those are just shity fishes with no concaves, like the almost standard V out the tail
and their made over seas so all of your money spent on one just goes in to the pockets of some greedy man, instead of the pockets of a struggling back yard shaper
doesn't matter who shaped it, some spoiled ass white boy will probably ask mommy to buy it for him... i'm not even asian and i think ur dumb ass racist ways are going to get your ass kicked one day, either on the beach in hawaii or maybe just rolling thru the city... what goes around, comes around. you'll see.
It doesn't matter who shaped it?.You probably own a 9 fish Chineese pop out plug your self..Brittany Spears knows more about surf design than these guys.
tell ya what bud, i only buy boards shaped and made in the u.s... why? cause tuflites suck. that doesn't mean ya' gotta start raggin' on the chinese and thais for makin' 'em, cause they ain't the ones buyin' em. think about the dudes who are payin' them to make those pop outs, pretty sure you got one of those brand names sitting in your quiver... bottom line most of the big shapers are selling out and the local guys are gettin' fucked... if you don't like it, buy local.
wow you must be an official ASP judge seeing past the tricks. anyway, any well rounded surfer know the benefits of having a board like this on a flat day. if your surfing for fun, in typical summer waves, totally worth having.
If you own a 9 fish, try putting the large fins up front like a traditional quad. It rides much better. The 9 fish website and specs recommend that you place the small fins upfront BUT, you can dig the rails in better with the large fins forward. Generating more speed with much better stability in overhead conditions. Duh?

stay low with knees flexed and with the weight a bit on the back foot.
you should also try to take the wave diagonaly so you dont face directly the slope of the wave and it doesnt pulls you forward..
keep practicing

get a bigger board, keep trying, and try different stance positions

true, i sold my 9 fish already to sum kook for 325, im going have garry mabile shape a fish for me, i heard he shapes sum of the best fish in town
littleshitsINC 4 years ago 2
I saw a guy just shredding a garry mabile the other day at Leo Carrillo. Those boards own.
chigglet999 3 years ago
Gerry Mabile?
I think it is Larry Mabile, and yes he makes some great boards. Try one of his twinzers for a summer board you may never go back to anything else.
Support your local Shaper!
Let them know your discontent with importing surfboards.
9-fish and Stokedsurfboards are exploiting surfing as a hole! And then making a handsome profit off doing so.
