Several times over the last two years i have been in a melancholy mood, and found myself going back to this video. There's just something indescribable about the way it makes me feel. I find the lyrics & vocals so haunting and filled with longing, that whenever i watch this performance, i don't just imagine going for a late night drive with someone i love - i imagine being old & gray, and looking back on such moments.

I was abused as a kid, ran pretty wild at school, was tamed in my late teens when I joined the church and all I listened to on my walkman was Amy ... 20 years later I've lived 15 years with a woman I love and all I listen to on my iPod is Melissa. When I saw this on TV, I burst into tears. You're right, two worlds collided. As did, my two selves. And somehow I felt whole.
