This episode is like an inverted murder mystery, like the old TV series Columbo starring Peter Falk. We know who the killer is, but now we can see what Matt did to find out who did the murder.
It doesn't show in the closing credits of this episode but composer Jerry Goldsmith wrote the unique closing song for the Marshal Dillon episodes. Jerry Goldsmith composed the songs for the Star Trek movies as well as a lot of other movies. What a gift.
