I kept expecting little Dastan to break into a rendition of "One Jump Ahead" during the opening chase scene.

That had to be a deliberate reference to Aladdin.

I saw this movie last Saturday. I'm sad to say I was pretty disappointed :(

I didnt know it was done by Disney until the "walt disney" logo appeared which for me was an instant let down..

I think if it had been done by a different studio it would have been done in a much more mature way. Disney means disappointing fights and everything will be draped in kiddy style.. The story wasnt very strong, like you said the only thing moving it forward was the dagger, I got kind of bored half way.

This is probably the most genuine review I've watched. Because instead of trashing it, you actually admit it's enjoyable with various small edits you'd wish to make. So, I thank you for that! I found this movie extremely fun to watch, and you're correct, the chemistry wasn't developed properly between the lovers, but it was all erased in time anyway. xD

This movie was garbage. God it was so stupid. The dagger kept changing hands, the tax free guy was NOT needed in the movie.

You said at 2:15 that the change of ownership of the dagger was simply a tool to move the plot forward. Now it is. But you make it seem like it's a bad thing. The plot would have moved forward without it. However the Plot was based on the Dagger. Now the movie and games are called prince of Persia. But he's just the hero not the plot runner he never has been (Ironically) Atleast that's the way I see it.

The Prince of Persia series isn't like how Halo 1, 2, & 3 are based on master Chief. The P of P series is more like Here is a situation and plot and here is the Hero to save the day who happens to be a Prince of Persia.

Also although you say you enjoyed the movie. It seems like you were "dissing" on the movie. Just an observation.

I found that this movie had many Subliminal Images and Hidden Messages. Either that or i'm just a huge perv. EX: the dagger shown with sand exploding out of it then a cut to the princess' walls opening so that the dagger can be inserted back into the chamber. I could go on, but i'm just saying.

@RileyRichardz It's a bad movie, you have to admit it, but you know, every time it's on TV, I have to watch it. If I'm flipping through channels and it's there, even if it's in the middle of the movie, I'll watch the rest of it. There's something about it's cheesiness that you can't stop watching, and because you are familiar with the characters that were terribly portrayed, it's like every time you watch it you think it's going to be different and start getting good... but it never does.

Weird, I thought so too, before I saw FF7: Advent Children.

I think I have to thank you AG. You are the first that I have seen getting the facts right. Movie is based on Ubisoft's PoP: Sands of Time-game, NOT the Original 1989 video game like Irate Gamer and magazines are saying.

I haven't seen this movie, but it is most likely the best video game to movie adaptation, because it was taken seriosly, unlike rest of the crappy video game movies.

... I thought that the Prince was supposed to have been discovered on a crashed Brittish trading ship and then adopted by the king.... (or atleast that's how I heard the backstory in the games are.)
