Jay didn't do anything, NBC is the root of this mess. They forced Jay out thinking he couldn't hold his number one spot 5 years ago, but he went out still number one. Conan takes over, Tonight Show tanks, NBC pulls about face and screws over Conan, while the country blames Jay. You wanna boycott something, boycott NBC.

Yes, but Jay is the one who "undecided" to stay retired, causing the chain reaction we saw take place almost immediately. His ratings sucked, which led to poor ratings to the lead in, the local news, which led to poor ratings to its lead in, The Tonight Show, which led to poor ratings to its lead in, Late Night. It was a totally unavoidable domino effect, caused by the douche who just couldn't let go. Jay fucking sucks. He's not funny, he never has been, and everyone just wants him to go away.

A good chunk of viewers will tune into a program and leave it on that channel to continue into the news. Since no one gave a shit about Leno at that hour, they obviously weren't tuned into NBC to lead into their local news. It's not rocket science. People want scripted shows at the 10:00 hour, not some washed up douche. Local news ratings were down big time. Are you telling me it was a huge coincidence that their ratings began tanking at the same time that Leno's new show was debuting?

And it's not Leno's fault if people don't switch to their local NBC affiliate to watch their newscast. I only watch my local NBC affiliate's news, but I never watched Leno. I knew that at 11, it was time to switch over....
