@doald Nope, Vancouver didn't have the same one. The one that was in Playland was a jet star 2 model. Not a jumbo jet. The main difference is the hills are smaller and only 1 car per train.
well I did like this ride , but as playland vancouver does they remove rides instead up keeping them as it now has one half decent wooden coaster and one lame cheep coaster which they got for a penny from ontario.
This was a classic ride at Coney Island. And I remember when it was at the old steeplechace park, and then they relocated it.Somebody said you can hear the Eldorado "Bump, bump, bump ya ass off" lol! Good memories, cuz they're about to tear all of that down to make a "better amusement park" which in english means hotels with condos.I got mad when they demolished the Thunderbolt rollercoaster, and that was clearly a landmark. And at the time Mayor Giuliani let it be destroyed. Daum shame!
@datkoolbrutha yeah i think if they had kept the landmark coasters and restoring the ones that were messed up and adding improvements every couple of years coney island wouldve been the best amusement park in the world
@datkoolbrutha It was at Cedar Point for awhile but they sold it somewhere else, again. Last time I heard it was still up and running, along with the Demon Drop that Cedar Point recently sold to Coney Island I believe.
@leroybrown96 well Demon Drop went to Dorney Park, which is owned by Cedar Point. I don't think Coney Island will get something like Demon Drop anytime soon, lol! Most of the new rides there are "family oriented" and they wanna focus on the "fun factor" out there, lol! The only extreme thrills out there now is the Cyclone, and a new Zamperla ride called Air Race. I'm still waiting to see if they will get a coaster from B&M,Intamin, Verkoma, or some other builder, lol!
There was a time when the Jumbo Jet in Coney island didn't have restraints. But after someone fell from it, they installed lap belts just before they closed it down in 2002. It's a shame though. And now the only thing that will be open in C.I will be the Cyclone and the WonderWheel!
This was one of my first coasters. The last time I rode it was in 1996, the day it derailed. I got weirded out that I rode it the hour of, and I never went back on it. Which I now regret
I rode the one at Cedar Point in Ohio and wish they still had it there. It was my first coaster ride and the one that got me hooked

Such a shame these Jumbo Jet coasters are disapearing, there aren't that many left these days. I hope I get to ride one before they're all gone.
