a couple of easy shortcuts
1. To make the size of your brush or eraser tool bigger or smaller you can use the bracket keys "[" & "]"
2. To move your image around hold the space bar and click with your mouse on the image, then drag it so it moves
3. To zoom in hold the ctrl+spacebar together and click to zoom in, to zoom out you hold the ctrl+alt+spacebar
4. To make a new layer you can also press ctrl+N
5. To duplicate a layer, select the layer you want to duplicate and press ctrl+J
