  • i installed it on my 2gb usb and i booted into ubuntu with it but it says install ubuntu or try ubuntu without any change to computer. if i choose install ubuntu will it install on the usb or the hdd.

  • @Computerstuff101 hey man i wonder if i cant install ubuntu on a usb stick of 32gb not in my C: or partition just like dual boot with usb drive which opens ubuntu normally

  • would it work on a 2gb usb

  • @X1Bit1X Yes

  • @Computerstuff101 How do i install ubuntu 2010 version on a usb stick when i am running windows xp?

Plus once it's installed on the usb, does that mean that whenever I am using windows xp I can just plug the usb in and run ubuntu, and whenever i am running ubuntu i can just switch to window xp by taking out the usb?

  • would you be able to use the drive on a computer currently using windows?

  • i have 1 question. What is the point of all this? it installs ubuntu faster and you dont have to carry around a cd?

  • most netbooks like the acer aspire one dont have a cd drive

  • oh i see

  • that and if a computer has multiple problems such as a corrupted OS and a failed CD drive, this is the easiest way to recover data...

  • @thew0wn00b i did it because the computers at my work are all password protected, so i used this instead.

  • You mean I can run it from a USB memory and it will save my changes ( files, themes etc.) ?

Or it will just allow me to run it in live mode and install it on an hdd ?

  • It will allow you to run it in live mode

  • nice but one cuestion can i still use the usb for sorage ??

  • Yes you should be able to.

  • so how do i actually boot from the flash drive?

  • You go into your BIOS and set it to boot from USB
