  • Wonderful song and arrangement! Fantastic coral!

Touch so much my soul and my heart!

    *****All the stars!

    Bel.

  • Oh my, that bass is godly!

I'm used to this arrangement for an SATB choir but the rich voices of the men sound gorgeous, especially the blending. Such a joy to listen to. Definitely have a choir of angels right here.

  • This is very nice. If you like this, you may also like the King's Singers. They have been around a long time (with differing personnel). They are also excellent, and they take themselves with a delightful sense of humor (that is a little more to my taste)! If you've never heard them, look up their Deconstructing Johann (that contains some alsolutely incredible bits), or Barber of Seville! Of course they also do several versions of Ave Maria.

  • very tender sung - it nearly hit´s the point - but where are the women?

  • If this isn't God, I dont know what is.

  • @1991chevy2500 this isnt god, its a song

  • Yes! The best Ave Maria! I love Jesus.

  • @ApostlesoYahwehUnite

And Billy loves Santa Claus, but what has that to say to anything

  • @ApostlesoYahwehUnite

And Billy loves Santa Claus, but what has that to say to anything?

  • Never heard this version before, but im glad i did! so beautiful :)

  • @lilzoke Are you saying that this is better than barbara bonney's version? It is beautiful song though :)

  • This song is one of the best songs I heard aya

  • wow; wunderschön.....ganz anders wie das orginal aber echt toll, gefällt mir sogar fast besser wie das orginal:-)

  • When they reach the "Amen's," it is as if I am ascending into Heaven.

  • Per Mariam Ad Jesum

  • I see Hitman.

  • very powerful

  • Well, I assumed Biebl was the conductor, sorry. I could never imagine that was written in 1964, while Wayne Shorter wrote for Miles Davis 5tet with #11 chords !

  • I ran through the comments, the usual and useless fights, but I didn't find when this was written. And by who, if someone has a clue. I can identify a drummer by the sound of his cymbal, but I'm a little lost with that stuff. Thanks.

  • It seems that you guys know very well religious songs...Please watch the first trailer of the movie "Vampire Suck" and tell me please the name of the song at the beginning, for me it's similar to an Alleluja but I can't found this song anywhere...Help me please. Thank you!

  • Homens cantando a Ave Maria, isto sim é beleza!

  • This is amazing....

  • Beautiful....

  • wow..they played this at my grandma's funeral , brings tears to my eyes everytime i hear this... r.i.p

  • hmzhm jemand bei laune und lust mit mir zu chatn hab auch bilder wenn ihr sehen wollt

  • Very Beautiful!

  • I think most rendition "Ave-Maria" --- the Okulova

  • Such a lovely song, and Chanticleer performs it beautifully. I remain very grateful that Kathy Tahiri, former Music Director at the Baha'i House of Worship, discovered it years ago and adapted the music to a prayer by Baha'u'llah.

  • The last minute of this song . . . tears, smiles, joy, sorrow, rapture, memories, hope, love, yearning, peace.

  • page 52:

As you travel along the path you meet an old man.

He tells you that modern neuroscience has proved that all our actions and decisions are purely the machinations of a predetermined universe and that our concept of free will is naught but a comforting illusion.

If you agree with this hypothesis, turn to page 72

If you disagree, turn to page 72

    ____________________________

    this song is breathtaking

  • so this is really how it sounds

  • lol.. comes in flat -_______________-'

  • its funny. i read all these comments about relgion and beliefs, and i dont know what i fall under. i dont believe in god, but i dont believe he doesnt exist either. for me, when i die, i believe i go to a place that has the same feeling as my personal place, let it be in my room, or in a church. For me, if i want to go there and see my loved ones, i just treat everyone with respect and accept people for what they believe in. i think thats the meaning of life, not just relgion as a whole.

  • Can we talk about the music again?

    That was beautiful. :-D

  • Everyone should be open to others' beliefs. For instance, I believe in God, but whether you call that God Thor, Jesus, Allah, Zeus, Shivah, Budda, Jack or Jill.. it doesn't matter to me. Most religions are versions of the same thing. If you don't believe in a religion or higher power I hope you believe in at least something.

Moral of the story: This song is beautiful and you don't have to believe anything to recognize that. Stop being close minded. No religion or life lesson teaches us to hate.

  • The blackcomp111 is saying,

" too bad you believe in god... dumbshit. You're living a lie.." he is not a scientist. He must be 12 years old. People, leave the boy alone : )

  • in addition, atheists are not scientologists. scientology is a religion. atheism is not a religion. please go purchase a dictionary.

  • my friend, you are a hero among commenters.

you have complete sentences, your spelling is fine and your grammar is fairly sound (minus the lack of capitolization, which is fine because it's the internet).

i applaud your efforts on not being ignorant and stupid as, i'm sure you've realized, is a very rampant disease for those who own a computer. thank you.

  • @jk9786

  • thank you! usually i don't even look at the comments on youtube videos because of the vacuousness of the majority of the comments. however, seeing someone refer to atheism as scientology really crossed a line and i just couldn't keep my mouth shut (my fingers frozen?) any longer. anyway, thanks for commenting on my comment. your remarks are hilarious in addition to being delightful!

  • i am an atheist. despite the fact that i don't believe in god, i can recognize that this is a beautiful song. as someone that doesn't refer to christians as "retards" i (we) would appreciate a small dose of tolerance. why can't we EMBRACE the reality of having different opinions? that's what makes civilization wonderful. i can choose to be irreligious and you can choose to believe whatever. we can still live on the same planet and be compassionate human beings.

  • I did this song for all state new jersey chior...very nice

    and on religion

    ATHIESTS FTW!

no but seriously there is nothing wrong in believing in what you want, but honestly the whole religion doesn't make any sense

  • ATHEISTS!!! SHUT THE HELL UP! im tired of you saying we force religion on you, when you say were wrong and we can't believe in religion... well go fall off something high, die and see what happens! you know what's funny, atheists are the ultimate procastinaters, they wait til' there on their deathbed to worship god, and they realise it's good... as god created man from the earth! so he shall return, into a second life of peace... were unity has it's way...

  • There, see I agree with richardrmwd. There is absolutly no reason for immature bickering back and forth. So cut the shit. AND this is a beautiful song. As a matter of fact I'm doing another version of this in my band this year. An instumental version though, which is kind of a let down because i would love to do this as a vocal peice also. but I'm sure it will be beautiful none the less.

  • Besides all the arguing, where no-one will really succeed in changing anyone's opinions, this is a really beautiful piece of music!

Thanks for posting it kelbert, Happy Christmas!

  • Ótima música, ouvir e se refletir, estamos em uma época diferente de todas,o mundo mudou.

  • all this talk about religion is absolutely beyod the point, this is absolutely beautiful, much appeciation for the men who sang this so beautifully. heavenly =]

  • You're dodging the question. Answer it. DO YOU BELIEVE IN MOST OF THE GODS THAT HAVE BEEN PRESENT IN OUR HISTORY? I bet not.... Also, were you raised in a religious family? were your beliefs reinforced by your parents when you were at an extremely impressionable age? Religion is belief WITHOUT knowledge, your faith is blind which is non-sensical. The belief in a supreme being whom is able to hear our every prayer is just as irrational as believing in a spaghetti monster. You're deluded

  • @theblackcomp111 and if you think we came from an accident, your truly the depressing one... do you know what atheism is?! obviously not, it's sctientology, you know, if you want to believe you came from an asteroid, that hit earth... by accident, and everyone is here because of that accident!? you're retarded, and you know not of what religion is, if you did you would know that it is not reinforced by parents, but by the child, because if the kid does not want to hear it, it's against the law..

  • There's such thing as being so open minded that your brain drops right out of your head. I urge you to think critically the next time you step into your church, whether or not your satisfied with not understanding the world. Id probably be right in saying your atheistic towards zeus, apollo, thor, and shira correct? You just go one god further.

  • One can not be atheistic and still believe in any sort of deity. One can't be atheistic to one deity and not another - that just isn't using the word correctly. Have you ever stepped into your 'church' whatever it maybe and thought critically about it, that just possibly, there is a God?

  • too bad religion is just one big sham for the weak minded, easily influenced/indoctrinated man woman and child, all based upon nonsensical belief, fear tactics and blind faith... which is belief without knowing. An characteristic that when in the wrong hands, can have devastating effects. Well, quite assuredly, there is no place for religion in todays world. It's deeply corrosive to rational inquiry and intelligence.

  • Too bad you're not going to be saved.... you pseudoscientific charlatan.

  • That's exactly the kind of high-brow humor and wit I expected in a response from an intellectual like you. ;)

  • How do you know that 'cference' is a pseudoscientist. That depends entirely on his profession. If he proclaims to be a scientist and he is infact a painter then your comment is founded but seeing as you nothing whatsoever about him/her, you have no leg to stand on. It's really quite offensive.

  • You seem to be quite the expert Mr. 111. What are your conclusions based on may I inquire?

  • Too bad. It is a quote from Einstein, the REAL scientist. : ) Bye now.

  • too bad you believe in god... dumbshit. You're living a lie..

  • Yes ,dear brother,a lie : that is what Jesus came to teach us.

  • @theblackcomp111 How is it that creationists are always wrong? theres no uch thing as histroical fact you know, the only proven thing we have as an ancient text is a vial of jesus' blood and the holy bible, so rethink youre sayings before you belt them out on us...

  • @Ivorybird09 Good one! Nice form!

  • what perfect harmony, technique and balance. these guys could sing a Chinese phone book.

  • @Woofycat LOL

  • i adore this song!!!! the bass part is so haunting. i love it.......the begining takes my breath away.

  • If you'd like to hear THE BEST version of this piece of music ever, come and listen to Cambridge Chorale's concert on the 28th of November 2009. It's at Great St Mary's church in Cambridge, 7.30 PM. I guarantee you'll want to come back again.

  • I am not Catholic, but I love this song. I am not hispanic, either, but I would love to hear Marco Antonio Solis sing this song. I bet he could blow everyone else's version out of the water.

  • tuntunununTUN tunununTUN!

  • Celestial....musica de las mas altas esferas..

  • Es algo que esta mas alla de lo hermoso

  • Excelllent blend of voices and balance. Most recordings of this are hard to pick out the lower notes of the bass line, especially from G and lower, which this piece has many of. Great recording.

  • great song! singing it in choir this year

  • WOW

  • espectacular!

Bonitas vozes e muito bem cantado!...

    Parabens.

    Obrigado.

  • I think listeners are associating this Ave Maria, with Schubert's and Gounard's version of Ave Maria. This is a Gregorian prayer.

  • This is such a bad a ss version of the ave maria, i sang it in choir in high school.

  • It is badass . . . I think people think you're saying it's bad, though. Lol.

  • Watch your tongue, heathen.

  • I love this song so much!!!

  • gregorians chants Catholic music... Bravo! me gusta

  • 素敵

  • dolce e meravigliosa...grazie...francesco.-

  • Awesome. I want to ask if i am the only one who thinks there's something of 4th mvt of 1st Brahms symphony.

    Cheers

  • Done well :) I'm singing bass part for allstate

  • q alguien me diga cual version de ave maria es la original????

  • lo siento- mi espanol es terrible..

pienso que la letra de las canciones es original, pero una variedad de compositores han escrito sus propias versiones differentes. me entiendes? no hay una sola version original.

  • Franz Biebl-1906-2001...Ave Maria 1964

    Charles Gounod-1818-1893...Ave Maria 1859

Franz Schubert-1797-1828...Ellens dritter Gesang/The Lady of the Lake/Ave Maria 1825

  • Not trying to get you to change your mind about the greatest version of Ava Maria but listen to the version on the Hitman's soundtrack.

  • WONDERFUL!

  • i sang the alto solo in canterbury cathedral with my school =)

probably not very well, but hey :P

    xx

  • Wow. You must really have no consideration for how that makes some people feel. Genocide is never a just resolution and posting a comment like that is pretty offensive. Any intellectually competent individual would realize that. You need to learn the time and place to state your opinion if you feel so strongly. Atleast make an effort to avoid being so arrogant and approach your comment from someone else's perspective.

  • I truly hope you have a more productive way of spending your time than denouncing others. My younger brother is only 12 and would never even think of uttering such a comment, especially in public. It's not a crime to make a mistake, but it is a crime not to learn from that mistake and identify where you went wrong. I understand because i have my own faults that i need to overcome. Hope you change.... you'll probably just tell me to fuck off.

  • sad,how sad,...one must be either very stupid or sick in ones head to say something like that, well,u pitty me!

  • About what? Sure, the Volkswagen Bug is a great automobile [he'd had it designed to satisfy the need of the German poor for a cheap, durable automobile], and he gave that bastard Stalin a swift kick in the balls, but really, the hell does that have to do with Israel? And between burning millions of books and stealing countless priceless works of art (many of which have yet to be recovered), and oh yeah, THE HOLOCAUST, I'd say your point of view is in need of considerable revision.

  • splendide, allez op, favoris!

  • awesome arrangement

  • awsome arrangement

    sang it last year!!

  • And im singing the soprano in the choir!!!!!:D and love it...

  • just like Heaven. Music like this will be at the gates of heaven for us to all enjoy. Thanks for the awesome recording of this Ave Maria

  • y is there no time for this song?

  • I hear this and it's almost as if I can feel the Holy Spirit wash over me. Everything bad is made good again and alas, I am made whole again. Music like this exists to give me and indeed the rest of the world hope that something beautiful remains despite all that has gone wrong in this world of ours.God Bless
