  • Very good video...

  • don't cross the double yellows like at 0:32 ...can get you a head on...that will mess you day..ride like you want to stay alive...watch carefully how you ride and watch for others driving around you...they cann't see you as well as you can see them...don't assume that they do..watch them closely. you can tell if they do but give your self some time to react incase they didn't... enjoy rideing but be watchfull and be safe..

  • @katzruler Right! I just took motorcycle classes and the instructor told us to act like we're invisible, because we are!

  • I learned by riding in the mall parking lot before it opened. I'd ride along the building.

  • Some little tips in there that made me feel more comfortable. What I needed! Thanks man.

  • Great videos. Explained it better than any instructor could. Where are you riding?

  • what happens when you have someone that hits the brakes in the middle of a turn?

  • Why are you putting your turn signal on for turns that are not at an intersection? Why are you running wide at all of your turn exits? Why are you aiming for the "apex" (double yellow in this case) on a street ride with oncoming traffic that may be hugging the same yellow line from the opposite direction? Why are you giving riding instructions?

  • had my first ride with ninja and i didnt think that i have to do like someone says. was just testing at lower speed and after some curves i added speed and leaned more. Anyway great vids. Big up (Y)

  • When u make a video can u say where u r ridin cause those are some beautiful areas.

  • @Youngbud718 new jersey

  • your videos are great. I am a beginner rider so I am still learning, I have a 08 Yamaha R6. I have a question, everything you say is making sense, but when you press, do you lock out the arm straight in the direction that you are turning? sorry if that is confusing, I mean, if you are going through a right hand turn, do you lock out right arm straight, pressing on the handlebars (countersteering) to go through that turn?

  • Beautiful areas for a ride.

  • Okay, now I think you need to do a little dialogue work. Maybe you could narrate some of the sections. The video dialogue is good, especially the real-time reactions (Woo-hoo), but in some sections it would be clearer if you had a rehearsed commentary. I'm glad to see you're getting lots of views. I think many riders can learn from your vids.

  • Great vids, dude! Keep it up!

  • "send your signal do all your shit...." i literally laughed out loud

  • Bless you guys that post these videos. I wrecked my bike three weeks ago on a curve because I didn't quite understand the technique even though I took the MSF course. After watching a video like yours I realized my mistakes and even went back and rode the same curves--this time with no problem (WOO HOO). It's so much easier when you see it. I wish I had found this video before the wreck.

  • Bike leaning - Um I have an xt125x yamaha I'm scared to lean it, it's 125kg and has hit me n broke my ankle (rider error ofc i didnt turn 4 shit) but how far can I lean before I fall right off, or is this basically NOT possible? plz reply xD

  • @xXMC023Xx Type in 'lean limits' and watch motormans video on how to test the lean limits of your bike. He sets up cones and has you make tighter and tighter circles. Also, if you don't understand countersteering watch some videos on that because that's how you make the bike lean properly . It's not just steering or turning the handlebars like some have stated. His DVD 'Ride like a pro 5' is well worth the money.

  • @xXMC023Xx The more you lean the more G's you pull thru the corner, so its basically dependant on the friction that the tyre and road can generate and total weight of the bike and rider.

You've got the equation for G force :

    G = 1/Cos(Bank Angle)

Balanced with the friction of the tyre on the road.

Once the G force exceeds the maximum friction (or grip), then the tyre starts sliding a bit. Though its recoverable, as long as you don't exceed certain percentage of slip.

  • @xXMC023Xx In other words, the more grip you have, the more you can lean.

  • Hey man what bike are you riding?

  • I'm impressed how quiet it is inside your helmet. It's like being inside a car. Inside mine it's like a wind storm, even with earplugs (bike doesn't have a screen and I tried different helmets).

  • 0:31 => Why crossing the full line. If you behave and be patient the car will turn and you have a clear road. I guess you were not :s

  • I feel twice. The second time was my all my fault. I was turning right, and looking left. Good thing I just bought my ICON vest, 'cause I feel right on my chest like THOOMPH! as a matter of fact, it was the same day I bought the vest. I was riding back home from the store. (Cycle Gear) I think that vest jynxed me.

  • For the others, "press"' is to press towards the left or the right, on either the left or right hand grip, or left or right foot peg or combination of left hand grip and left foot peg or right hand grip and right foor peg. This is more with "steering" a bike. Thats another subject by itself. A term often associated with that is "counter steer". I'll let you google/youtube that.

  • Hii Zone07, Thanks for the 3 video's. Good explanation and demo. I'm always looking at motorcycle safety or advanced video's to keep my skills up, even when I'm NOT on the bike. Youtubue is a good tool to do that.

  • i really love the 3 videos you explain things so well...but what is the apex ?

  • Apex = the center of the turn; it is also the tightest point of the corner.

  • Good video, buddy, thanks!

  • Now i have seen all 3 Videos of it and i really have to say that i love you and your videos. Head on guy! You're really cool!!!!!

Nice Videos, nice machine, nice Voice!

    Greetings from Germany ;-)

  • great video, i wish i'd have watched this before i was stupid enough to hit my front brake going round a left bend, the bike stood up and i went across the other side of the road going head on to an oncoming car (both of us doing around 50mph) , lucky for me the car swerved & ive never done it since, :-)

  • can someone explain "press" ...is it a press toward the front of the bike pr pressing from top down....i cannot understand this(even though i am able to turn the bike)

  • check out my video on counter-steering; that should answer your question.

  • thanks bro

  • He means press your body with the machine into the curve. You don't need to steer really much. You know what i mean?

  • Damn. This should be an answer to the question from " Zlaja16".

    Sry

  • @Zlaja16 in other words push. If you want to make a right turn, push forward with your right hand. The weel will turn slightly to the left but the bike will lean to the right. if you want to turn left, push forward on the handle with your left hand. The weel will turn slightly to the right but the bike will lean to the left.

  • nice man:D

  • You're the BEST!! Thanks ;-)

  • Excellent tutorial!

  • Never took MSF course. In the beginning i had trouble turning at high speeds but now (2yrs later) never give it a second thought. I probably do SLPR without thinking about it. I'll check it out next time i roll.

  • That was a Really Helpful vid

  • wen u slow down for a turn to u apply the rear brake or the front brake??

  • you should apply both brakes and let go of them before you enter the turn.

  • thanks a lot, man! Very helpfull.

  • Thanks for the info! I fell off my scooter today and it was on a silly turn! It was embarassing and I had sandals on! My toes suffered the concequences! I was such an idiot!

  • your videos are really good man! great help thanks.

hahaha at 2:31-2:32 "WooooHoooooo" lol :P

  • Great Work Thanks for explaining,

cant wait for more of your videos!!

  • Great piece of advice!

    Thanks, man! :)

  • looks like an 07 to me?

  • hi zone, what year is your kat?

  • 2006

  • i rode my bike before I did the MSF course. went too fast on a curve with my GSXR 750 and crashed. was very lucky. i took the msf course a year ago but since the winter i forgot half the stuff. this is a great fresher upper, slow look press roll, SLaPeR. makes sense to me. love the personality too.

where are you riding? those twisties look sweet!

  • I'm in NJ by the Watchung Reservation in Union County. those twisties are sweet; I took it easy here for the vid but they are awesome; I'll have another vid on this road with no commentary posted soon; many riders come up here; we've had a few fatalities though :(

  • yep we've all at some point took a turn to fast, you learn as you go basically though coming out of the turn you shouldnt have to press in the opposit direction cause the bike wants to be upright you just stop pressing keeping the power on and adding more and up she comes

  • Great! These videos are realy help.

  • "signal crap, do all your shits" ROFL, classic

  • This is probably the most complete turning video on youtube. Great series.

  • probably..lol. =]
