I'm pretty sure that the mother would have had a good reason to eat her cubs if she was in the wild. It's sad to humans because we get attached emotionally to our offspring, but in the wild animals feel no love and do only what is absolutely necessary to survive. It's nice that they were able to save this polar bear baby though.

normally male bears have to wander for miles to find a female, and sometimes the female already has a cub so no mating can be done, so a new cub is a small miracle. in the zoo, if they are well- kept, more cubs will be born and chances will be higher to save these bears

The little polar cub is so adorable and precious I can't stop playing it over and over! That lady is sure lucky, to be able to hold and give milk to the little cub. I just want to hold and cuddle a real polar bear cub at least once before I leave this earth! I have my teddies, but alas, they're not real polar bears, even if I pretend it so. Best place to really see these animals is in Churchill Manitoba Canada or northern Canada especially around the Hudson's Bay. But, still the best would be Churchill. In addition, they have these huge vehicles that can go out onto the tundra, in safety, for the entire day to observe and film the Bears.
