  • Dark master my guide......

  • This song is so awesome, best part definetely starts around 6:00 :D :D :D ! Gives me chills.

  • same here...still gives me the chills

  • My soul grows weaker He knows and he waits He watches over me Standing at the infernal gates In the hour of darkness The moment I feared has passed The moment I lost my faith Promising salvation My soul is my own now I do not fight for you Dark Master ....my part ... damn almost 2yrs listening to this and still gives me a chill... one of my favorite in all songs in the universe...
  • You should read "Priest", the manwha the song is based on =D! its fucking awesome!

  • this could definitely go down as one of the greatest dream theater songs and therefore obviously one of the greatest contemporary works of music. A fuckin epic about a guy who sold his soul to the devil. I'm sorry you just can't fuck with that no matter what you say. Dream Theater and the Chick Corea Electric Band have set a ridiculously high standard for quality contemporary music. "Dark Master I will fight for you" ...and its not even the words but the music to that, that is just not mortal.

  • Angels fall

    all for you

    Heretic

My favorite lines from the song.

  • LOL! the day they played this concert was my birthday! xD

  • Gah xD Dream theater is so frikkin amazing. Fuck DragonForce (actually I like that band lol). But still. Dream theater doesn't get as much credit as they deserve. Their music is way better. The DragonForce guitarists are downright sloppy. ROCK ON DREAM THEATER =]

    Hehe ^_^

  • i agree. the only thing dragon force can really do thats impressive is really fast picking. Petrucci can pick and fret just as fast.lol

  • Faster?

  • actually JP is even faster, like at least 1000000x faster :P

No but seriously, he owns them...while sleeping

  • ITS TIME FOR YOUR RECKONING!!!

    badass.

  • it sounds terrible with everyone clapping during the intro, but the rest sounds amazing.

  • this song has loads of meaning behind it. this song is actually a christian song. the whole "dark master" part is about how sin can control you life and then at the end he says my soul is my own now i do not fight for you, dark master. meaning that he has found salvation and the "dark master" is gone.

  • it's fight club all over again :P

  • no shit. like nobody noticed it. damn. you should get a nobel prize for that shit.

  • Good VS Evil doesn't mean it's Christian...

  • this is the first time i hear that the public's encore matches the song rythm xD

    awesome performance!

  • Lol right xD but they were going out of time at the end,so they stopped xD

  • nice.,that bassline is trully haunting.

the timing fix change they always do from Images and Words was applied in Systematic Chaos.,i love that tadadadada part.

too bad jordan didn't showoff too much in those solos.,but he definitely SMOKED on that The Ministry Of Lost Souls intro and orchestra sound effect..,the haaaaaaaaaaaaaa sound is trully clear.,it's a common sense that u'll imagine what i meant by haaaaaaa sound.,the sound of singing vocal orchestra.

  • my favorite part was the..

"MY SOUL IS YOURS DARK MASTER, I WILL FIGHT FOR YOU"..pure AWESOMENESS!!!

  • yay I was right down there at the side of the stage :D

  • yeah, they played this when I saw them.....awesome.

  • It was inspired by the manwha 'Priest'

  • i cant w8 to see them live today D:

  • i cant w8 to see them live today D:

  • James sings perfect here.. I'm glad is back!!

  • my fav on systematic chaos

  • Agreed. What's more, it's in my top 5:

    1. TDoE

    2. Take the Time

    3. ItPoE

    4. SDoIT (yeah, the whole 42 min beast)

    5. ACoS and Octavarium, tied

  • I have to say something pretty 'bad'... I mean, I liked this 'new' , but you might not...

I read the letter of this song was almost 'stealed' from some things they say in a comic/manga called Priest :|

A very nice comic by the way... Please, check in the internet, look for 'priest manga in the presence of enemies' in Google =)

  • Dream Theater has never had a big lyrical focus, So i am unoffended as long as the music is original, which it is. :)

  • maybe but i dont look down on them for that i mean im a huge comic book fan and ill bet if you ask petrucci about it he'd probably say that he was inspired by it. Besides Peart got his inspiration for 2112 by an Ayn Raynd novel

  • What is bad? This is one of the best storytelling songs ever. Original text being used nicely makes it even better.

  • Petrucci said in a DVD, I think in "the making of...", that he has been inspired by a manga

    I'm sure he didn't steal anything :)

  • when?

  • He admitted that he has been inspired by a manga called Priest, I think, I don't remember the name, it was something like Priest

  • There's other bands that have lifted some verses or other things from the inspiration to the song. Look at Rime of the Ancient Marine by Iron Maiden. I have to disagree though, there was a time when lyrics were actual a pretty big focus with DT their older stuff up to Six Degrees was all really good, especially tracks like Under a Glass Moon, Trial of Tears, Blind Faith. It wasn't until ToT that they put composition and impossible solos before lyrics. Every now and then they shine though.

  • @DMCMaster550 Composition should always be put ahead of lyrics. It's all about the music, not the pseudo-intellectual "poetry".

  • Lyrics hold a greater meaning than the music itself, composition and lyrics should be put together side by side. Look at Change of Seasons, the composition is great and the lyrics as well, Or Smashing Pumpkins or Iron Maiden, there's a huge emphasis on lyrics and composition. It doesn't need to be psuedo-intellectul but at least better than a 16 minute song about a non-fatal car accident. And even still look at Dark Eternal Night, bad lyrics and bad composition.

  • @DMCMaster550 Again, I'm in it for the music, not the attempt at poetry. You are right about ACoS though, that is a perfect blend of great music and lyrics, amazing album! I disagree about Dark Eternal Night being bad. It's a fun song about evil things that go bump in the night. It's not a serious song, it's just a heavy song you can bang your head to. I disliked it when I first heard it, but it grew on me. See, I don't need lyrics to enjoy music which is why I love LTE and SA.

  • @cheetahfish I'm not saying the lyrics need to be an attempt at poetry but if they're to be written than the lyrics should at least be good. I'm not saying lyrics are required to enjoy music, I love Black Clouds because of the composition, but if I find a song with lyrics should at least have good lyrics, if not don't write them.

  • @DMCMaster550 Yep, I can definitely agree with that!

  • Yeah, James was really awesome at that show.

  • James is surprisingly good live in this tour... good.

  • this song is one of the best song ever!

    love it !

  • finns förresten en bootleg på hela den här konserten på piratebay

  • Coolt, ska fixa ner den :D

  • vad heter den?

  • Dream Theater - Chaos in Stockholm, live at hovet

  • grym konsert!!!

Stod i andra raden i mitten av publikhavet:P

  • Awesome song, on of my favorites

  • bad view but the song is amazing

  • bad ass!!

  • Grym konsert!
