I take humira for crohns. I cant give myself the shot because it hurts too damn bad. I make my hubby do it. As soon as he starts the shot, i count to 10 right then. I dont wait for the yellow window to appear. I hate those shots with a passion! I take it once a week. The medicine burns like a hot poker.
For me it barely hurts. It does burn a little bit but the needle doesn't hurt going in. I just took my first two shots today. Humira hurts a lot less than Enbrel. Enbrel has much more fluid to inject in teh same amount of time so it stings badly going in. I hope Humira works for me. I need to get rid of my psoriasis. It's so painful!
Just did my Humira shot after watching you lol. It is sooo painful but I rather that then more deformity from RA and I want rid of the evil pred, I would sell a lung for that if I had to. Thanks for sharing with us, I need to borrow the booboo bunny though ahahaha
Oooh I would slap him for downplaying the sting! I take it for AS and wouldn't trade it for anything- has completely changed my life. I'm only 22 and have lived through years of intense arthritic pain and countless needle related treatments... but Humira sure stings like a little bitch! Thanks for the video :-)
I know you're pain. I've been giving it to myself every two weeks for the past two years, and i had to be 'reintroduced' to it today....meaning i had to do four this afternoon, then 2 in 2 weeks, then 1 every week.
seriously, this lil needle stings! nice to know we're not alone though. good video :)
Is this for psoriasis ? My mom has done 4 injection. She has seen no improovment. On the other side, she went worse. She has to wait and take more injections ??? anyone with the same history ??? please answer ..
All of my shots first included was done at home. I use the syringes instead of the pen. I have psoriatic/rheumatoid arthritis so it makes it easier for me to use the syringe(easier to insert in skin and push plunger). I learned after several injections that pushing the plunger faster to inject does not hurt as bad if injecting slower. I love using Humira for it works wonders for me as for the relief arthritic pain and it cleared up my psoriasis also!
yeah i take the humira injections for psoriatic arthritis, total bummer man. I use the auto injectors every 2 weeks and man do they hurt. Been taking it for about 10 months and the results have been incredible but the shots are so awful. Anyone else who struggles with these shots, you arent alone, believe me. Sucks having to do these shots indefinitely at 27, but its better than the alternative!!! stay postiive humira people
@txtransplant1984 i'm 23 years old and I also have psoriatic athritis. I will start with humira injections in 2 weeks or so. Other then the pain from the shot, do tou still have alot of swolling from arthtritis?
GIVE IT TO MY SELF I HAVE ALWAYS HATED NEEDLES BUT THE PEN IS VERY GOOD EVERYBODY HAS DIFERENT LEVELS OF PAIN TOLARANCE I WAS ALL FREAKED OUT ABOUT IT I HAVE DONE 3 AND A HALF MONTHS WORTH IT GETS EASIER WHEN YOU KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT I FIND IT DOSENT HURT AT ALL JUST PRESSURE BUT I DO FAVOUR THE LEGS OVER THE STOMACH
MY NURES TOLD ME GIRLS HAVE DIFFENENT REACTIONS THAN MEN TO THERE FIRST SHOT GIRLS CRY AND GUYS PASS OUT OR GET LIGHT HEADED AS I DID
I had my first 2 shots today using the pen. I get my next one in a week then once every 2 weeks. The nurse came and showed me what to do. She said to try it in my thighs. OMG!!! It wan't so much the needle but the drug being injected. So painful lol. Thanks for the video
Yeah it burns and hurtts bad. Try the non-auto inject. Still hurts but not as bad. I try to take a pain killer about 30 min before and warm my humira to room temp before I inject while icing the site before and after the shot. Good luck and good health to all!
I was shown how to administer my Humira injections on Friday 28th of May. I did the first 4 at my doctors office. In 14 more days I do the next 2 pens here at home. I'm new to Humira and just plain nerved up about it. Only 2 of the first four injections in my gut stung. But I guess if it helps with my Crohns and gets me off this Prednisone It'll be worth it.
@KSLEADBETTER I also did my first four shots at the pharmacy where they showed me how to do the injection- I think I was so caught off guard at having to inject myself (the pharmacist literally was like- ok go) that I didn't even notice the pain. I didn't even use ice because I didn't want to be a nuisance. It definitely got more difficult once I was at home. Good luck with it. I hope it helps you. I think anything is better than the evil pred.
I have to say I haven't noticed all too much of a difference between the stomach and thighs. The stomach hurts a little more but the thigh hurts more after and is more likely to bleed a lot.
it is easier when your not the one doing it. i have been procrastinating for an hour or more now. you only need to wait 10 seconds after you press it i think. yellow line means its done.
lol...stop filming now... I know how you feel good job....yeah...take it straight out the fridge and do it....my dumb ass did that for like 3 or 4 months till someone on youtube said...it doenst hurt that much...you over acting...I was like FU it does! cha! Now I know...your a trooper. unfortunately mine does not seem to be helping after a year of injections..but my Dr left the state so I have to find someone else...good luck.

You HAVE to wait 10 seconds after it's done or it will come pouring back out. What she said is right.
