Do I have to use toor daal. My wife mixes several raw dal and stores them so i don't have toor dal separately. I just want to make my own dal so i don't have to fall on her feet when i am craving for dal ! Lol
I'm so trying this! btw I've got a request ... I'm a huge Daal fan and I want to know as much as possible about the world of Dals, but whenever I go the indian supermarket I see so many types that I get confused which is used with what and ... and what are their different qualities ... for example .. what is the difference between yellow split peas and chana dal ... and so on ... so i was wondering if you could do a small tutorial/guide video on Daals, it would be really helpful n great!
I can't believe this...This Video really will work. It happens to be crazy, I was surprised that this, I attempted it for no cost at roulettecash==org
@raogopinath : There are so many different recipes of making Daal :) Cumin Seeds are not essential but a lot of North Indian inspired daal recipes do use them. Try this as we have shown and you'll be amazed how wonderful it tastes even without the Cumin Seeds ;)
I am greek and I love all your indian recipies! I like the fact that you use chilies. Chilies really helps boost up your metabolism, thus making you lose weight!
Yay new blue spoon ! LOL you guys have used the same red spoon for so long. Love your shirts, and sounds like Anuja has a cold, hope you feel better soon! :)
@Jiya25041983 I agree with ur comment except for the 1st sentence since looks like many students find these recipes helpful ..But yes I found those recipes in ur comment boring too .. I was disappointed to see the corn chevdo and dal fry because It is festival season and I was expecting some special recipes but I will just wait ...
hey ladies..yu can put annotations to promote ppl to click the like button..and increase your views on youtube..which in turn increases your viewership on the site:)
Adding 1-2 tsps of Ghee in the oil for the tadka really brings out the flavour of the rest of the ingredients and makes a simple dal much more tastier.
who wants 2 learn daal fry every body know how 2 cook this daal fry......try new things u guys r boring now sorry to say that but its true.....daal fry, papad ki subzi, makao no chevdo all r borning recipes who wants 2 learn them plz make something new...
@jiya25041983 well, they're trying to cater to different people with different needs. Not all people have the necessary time to cook flashy gourmet Indian dishes. And they're not boring. You're just difficult to amuse, that's all.
Ummmmm. . . .would you ladies please do more recipes featuring the pressure cooker, explaining how it's used. I've got one, but I don't know anything about it.
@sapna101 When I cook brown lentils they take about 25-30 mins to cook on high, but it depends on how high your stove goes. I'd say you keep an eye on them the first time you make them, and note the time they took to cook. Then you'll know for next time.
As a side not, split lentils will take less time.
it came out really good... thanks for your recipe.....

@ebaysingh09 : You can use mixed daals or any one particular one you like. The flavor will still be great :)
Enjoy!

Great recipe! Came out perfect.... One question though, can i use this same recipe for other dals like moong, bengal gram or masoor?

@Thomasnigga : Yes, you can. The cooking times may vary a bit. The flavors that different daals provide is amazing :)
Enjoy!
