He sounds as good as he did when he recorded this back in early 70's. I wore the album out playing it over and over and I still get down with it. I could care less who he beds---I appreciate the talent and longevity.

This very Show, I was there, and when he sang this song, i think it was one of the best songs i ever herd, and towards the end it got loud, because of the brooklyn youth chours, awsome show, hopfully i will get to see Sir Elton Again, i almost got to met him at that show, but i couldnt because there were to many celebrities, but i still enjoyed myself, concert 3 and a half hours great great show, ROCK ON ELTON, ROCK ON. Happy Birthday!!!
EJ has done things for this world that are positive what have you done? thanks for your comment .if you have nothing nice to say shut the #### up we are all in this world together no one gets out alive! peace my brother let us live in peace.

You wore a little cross of gold around your neck I saw it as you flew between my reason Like a raven in the night time when you left I wear a chain upon my wrist that bears no name You touched it and you wore it And you kept it in your pillow all the same My high-flying bird has flown from out my arms I thought myself her keeper She thought I meant her harm She thought I was the archer A weather man of words But I could never shoot down My high-flying bird
I just discovered this song a month ago and it has already become one of my all-time favorite Elton John songs!!

The white walls of your dressing room are stained in scarlet red
You bled upon the cold stone like a young man
In the foreign field of death
Wouldn't it be wonderful is all I heard you say
You never closed your eyes at night and learned to love daylight
Instead you moved away
