Two of those losses were due to bad calls. I know that they always say that you should never put yourself in position to lose from a bad call, but still, there should be an asterisk next to the 9. If you throw out the 2002 and 2005 games, the series is 8-5 Michigan, and not 10-3 Michigan.

What I think is that it'll be another 8-4 year for Michigan, but a weird one. They'll upset at least one team (Wisconsin and possibly some other team), but lose a game against a team they were supposed to spank (probably Utah).
For an idea what I think the game against Michigan will be like, look at a highlight video of the Penn State vs Iowa game from last year. Before that game, Iowa had a five game winning streak over us.
I meant "throw out" as in "not count them in Michigan's favor", since they should have been won by Penn State. But Michigan would still be up 8-5 in the series, so it wouldn't make that huge of a different.
If the same Michigan team that lost to App State and Oregon would have showed up for the Penn State game, it'd have been a much different game. Luckily for you, Michigan woke up for the Notre Dame game. I agree that App State is a great team, and would probably give PSU fits, at least as a road game, but remember, Penn State was one of only three teams to hold you to 14 points or less and gave you your third toughest Big 10 game. What I think is that it'll be another 8-4 year for Michigan, but a weird one. They'll upset at least one team (Wisconsin and possibly some other team), but lose a game against a team they were supposed to spank (probably Utah).
For an idea what I think the game against Michigan will be like, look at a highlight video of the Penn State vs Iowa game from last year. Before that game, Iowa had a five game winning streak over us.

If the same Michigan team that lost to App State and Oregon would have showed up for the Penn State game, it'd have been a much different game. Luckily for you, Michigan woke up for the Notre Dame game. I agree that App State is a great team, and would probably give PSU fits, at least as a road game, but remember, Penn State was one of only three teams to hold you to 14 points or less and gave you your third toughest Big 10 game. Be thankful for those Austin Scott fumbles.
