My cousin, aunt, best (girl)friend, 2nd cousin, and two of my exs drove Mustangs, all women. Two of my best friends drive an '80 Camaro and a '77 Formula, I drive a '79 Trans Am, my dad drives a '74 Vette, and my little brother has an '80 Firebird. Ford GT not a production car? 3 dealers here in the Minneapolis area have them in the showroom with nice window stickers in the 175,000 dollar range. Plus, they let their contract run out with the plant in Canada that made the Camaro and Firebird. I have a 2000 Formula, and back then the car was priced at 30 grand. So, you are correct, they want to charge too much. Chrysler is doing the same thing with the Challenger being it starts at $40,000 for '08

Lingenfelter isn't factory. The Ford GT will touch the Corvette. I'm a Ford guy, but I think of the Corvette as more of a sports car than the Mustang. So, I think of Chevy when I think of high performance. So you might be right, Chevy might be a higher performance company. (I honestly don't know how our family can claim to be Ford people.
