How old is this song, and who wrote it? I am 80 and remember it as a teenager back in the 1940s. Willie didn't do it until about the 1970s....I'm guessing it goes back to the days of Ted Daffan or earlier. Thanks.
Fantastic! Check out my Dad's site .Winston271001 He wrote the song "Teensville" off Chet's self -titled album "Teensville" Along with The Slop, also written by my Dad "Wayne Cogswell
Good 'ol Chet! Somewhere along the way I got old. It ain't fun. The worst part is I won't get to hear you much longer. If I have memories on the other side, I hope they include you and Blue Eyes.
The most beautiful instrumental version of this song I've ever heard! Thanks so much for posting it! From which of Chet's albums is this lovely tune?
Wow--Thank you. One of my top ten favorite songs

It was written by Fred Rose and originally recorded in 1945 by Roy Acuff. Hank Williams also has a version.
