Your music is great! I like it a lot. I am a teacher at a german high school. We started a new internet TV for our school homepage. It is called gympapTV. Would you allow us to use your music in one of our video clips?
well you have sold this to me. bought a mac pro the other week and immediately starting using garageband with me being a musician and if this is a taster of what the jam pack sounds like then without a doubt I'm buying it! Superb!
Finally :) I've been looking for some other people with talent aswell that compose and stuff too :) your music is really nice. Like I can feel the emotion from the melody speaking to me :) I absolutely love it
Forget GarageBand - this composition is absolutely beautiful and if it's okay with you I'm planning on create an arrangement that can be the first ever piece played by our new school band :)
@RockJohn89 Exactly, it gives some better sounding instruments to play with, and just a lot more options. I'm always looking for more realistic sounds, and for the price of this jam pack I was blown away. They aren't the best by any means, but I think they sound pretty good.
@halasima You might like trying out some sf2 instruments. Not all of them work in GB, but there are a few great ones. 'Ethan's Bassoon' for example is about as realistic as you could ask for in a virtual instrument.
@halasima If you want more realistic sounds then you want garritan sounds, it's included in finale 2011 but it costs about 600 bucks which is really a bad thing.....
Check out my page. I'll show you how to get the 5 Garageband Jam Packs and the AMG Garageband Extension pack for a total of $40. This is a $550 package for $40.
hey im doing a project in garageband and my two biggest problems are that i cant tie the notes together and there are areas where i need to change the time signatures on just one or two measures Do you know if it is possible to do either of these and if so could u tell me how?
I don't believe that this is all MIDI. How did you make it all sound like it's a live orchestra? I have the Jam Pack, and can't make it sound completely realistic.
Promise it is. I wish I could show all the tracks. It was 4 tracks of strings along with a Timpani that really helped it sound real. I spent a lot of time messing with the reverbs and balancing everything. But its all the Symphony Orchestra Jam Pack, using a Midi setup with my 14 year old computer.
That's exactly the setup I have but a plain macbook (not a pro). I too am using a 14 year old Yamaha keyboard with a Roland midi to USB adapter. I use the Orchestra Jam pack as well. It's a great useful purchase.
@curtithird You have to mess with the effects, and if you use a velocity sensitive keyboard, that really helps to get emotion into the intsruments. You can also mess with the progressive volume for better dynamics.
@curtithird I have the Jam Pack as well and like halasima has described you do have to put a little work into some of the instruments to get them sounding more realistic. You just have to experiment with all the options for awhile until you figure it out.
Yeah man, no problem... its really simple. I just used my MacBook Pro, my 14 year old Yamaha MIDI computer, a MIDI to USB device, and Garageband with the Symphony Orchestra Jam Pack. Nothing else that I can think of. Hope that helps at least a little.
What an incredibly touching composition! I'm glad to hear that you're getting a chance to score a film - you clearly have so much talent that it deserves an outlet.
this is fucking good. and i usually dont say that, but this is completely amazing that this was done by an amateur. im just getting into this, im gonna post a video of a quick little thing i made, its really amateur though, its shit compared to this. but hey im still learning.
Diese Musik ist so umwerfend schön. Sie berührt mein Herz und ich bin ganz entrückt, wenn ich der Musik lausche. Ich kann sie immer und immer wieder abspielen. Wunderschön!
Garageband comes free with a Mac, thats what blew me away. The Orchestra Jam Pack was $99, but worth it for me. I really love the program. It actually pushed me into Logic, where I'm getting my first chance to score a film now.
I was responding to the guy who asked if you could make some pretty original stuff using only the loops. I personally wouldn't call that very original. This song "Mele" however, is amazing I love it.
fantastcally brilliant the melody stays with one the simple melody line works as genius(simplicity the hardest thing to ceate0 i am back on again with symp orchestra your music indpires me to continue do you give personal info age studies etc have you heard clint eastwoods 3 4 line orchestral for one of his latest films
Huge fan of simplicity.... Clint Eastwood is the master of that. I think what he did for "Million Dollar Baby" was incredible. His work on "Invictus" is just as inspiring.
I think its all about how you just play with the sounds. I didn't do much at all, but the settings in the reverbs really helped. I'm no expert by any means, I just know its all in how you tweak it. On the export, I export to disk so that the file isn't compressed which really helps too... I don't know if that is any help.
Simply gorgeous. :) Thank you for also selling me that particular Jam pack with such a beautiful example of how it sounds. Can't wait to try it myself.
thanks :) i bought reason 4 a week ago :) but such a nice sound i could not make until now :( But i will now upload my "Melisandes Death", which i made for my music teacher :P
That is absolutely fantastic!!! I love this, (I wish i were as good as you)... but just in listening, i would play around with the harp part at the beggining and the end cause it seems to conflict with the piano a bit, just a thought, i couldn't do half this good though lol
Yeah... it takes a bit to get used too. I used the different varieties of the strings it gives you further down the list to control it a bit, and also had to figure out how to time it all out. Which really sounds harder than it was.
I've been debating buying this for a while now, but I'm pretty sure I'll pick it up now. I do music for student films and so far I've been getting by on regular ol' Garageband, but this definitely seems worth the price. Might I ask what the choir was from?

would you recommend this jam pack, orchestra one
cuz i wanna make like, epic songs for my action movies, and have a mac and garageband, and i got some birthday and christmas money left over, os thought i shuld get it
I really liked it for the price. Great realistic sound. I've used better before at work, but you really pay for it. This is really impressive though from Apple, the only downside is the lack of good solo instruments. The choir is the only sound that isn't in this Jam Pack (I was in a weird Danny Elfman mood I guess). I know its how you play, that makes it sound real... but this Jam Pack makes it way easier than most other virtual instruments. I recommend it, if anything for the price.

Hi- It sounds great!!! Not everyone can compose such music!
I have a question- this Jam Pack "Symphony Orchrstra"
What exactly it does? without it you'd only have a limit option for orchestra?
and it gives you an option to increase the orchestra instruments?
thanks!!!
