Correect me if I am wrong but games and movies breath life into the classical world, otherwise it is very stagnant always covering what has come before.

This is fresh, attracts new fans and makes more for very epic playing.

If that's what you think, your perception of classical music must come exclusively from Mozart and Handel tribute concerts from local performances. Orchestral music is so far from dead or stagnant, you just have to look a bit beyond what the college orchestra plays and research some modern composers.

That's not to say game music isn't a great medium for the genre either.
