  • Romney has called himself a Progressive in the past... you won't catch him saying that these days, but that's because he's trying to win the Republican nomination.

  • Please don't call Romey a conservative. Yes, he is a Republican, but there aren't many GOP conservatives holding public office these days.

  • I knew if I just spent fifteen minutes exercising my brain I would find something something to put my faith back in Democrats! Republicans! It's a free ride to Hell alright. At least Obama's sheep aren't on fire and holding pitchforks

  • Please, any Republicans:

    search Google for [ kaiser health 1993 2009 ]

You'll find a comparison between today's recent healthcare reform and the 1993 GOP counter-proposal to Clinton. The law Obama signed is mostly the same as the 1993 Republican healthcare plan.

People on the left aren't happy with the idea of mandated private insurance (we want a public option). Republicans are opposed to this because Democrats support it - why else would a bill that's mostly theirs be worth opposing?

  • Ron Paul doesn't believe in mandated health insurance.

    Ron Paul 2012!

  • The irony of it all! The GOP has to break free of the teabaggers grip or they are toast.

  • As usual, the GOP is lying about their total opposition to mandatory health insurance.

    Same old same old...

  • They don't. It's a republican idea for health care which goes back to Eisenhower, Nixon and Bob Dole. But Obama is a socialist. And a muslim. Just like Hitler.

  • since when do progressives support the mandate?

  • @Capitalocracy

When the insurance companies told you to.
