Yes, Italia 90 was full of dreadful football, but there were a FEW gems and besides - still infinately better than 2002.

1990 world cup was my first as a football fan and is visually one of the more iconic ones. But the reality was this was one of the dullest tournaments in its history... with very few goals and very few true epic matches... especially the final.

I hate to sound like an anorak here, but contrary to what the commentator says: It was in fact 2:1 to Brazil against Sweden.

That said, yes, it was a very memorable world cup, with more classic matches than you could shake a stick at. And who would have thought it? After such a superb world cup in Mexico 4 years earlier.
