thank you very much for uploading this song,i'm not from this era but i love listening to this kind of songs.too bad they they don't make this music anymore.lovely and wonderful,a real classic one!
Thanks for posting this...this is the original Victor million-seller that spent 9 weeks at the # 1 position on Your Hit Parade back in 1939. Clinton's band's most transcendent moment. Wish some more of the Clinton/Wain collaborative wonders could be posted or uploaded by somebody here, such as extra special gems like "You Go To My Head", "My Heart At Thy Sweet Voice" or "I Get Along Without You Very Well"
in the late evening, i cradle my 8 month old daughter, lulling her back to sleep whilst listening to this timeless song. one day when she's older, she may hear this song and recall being cradled by her father... i hope she will appreciate this tune as something very special, from a very special time in our lives... thank you.
Thank you masterofdino for Bea Wain's address. I will send her a letter and let you know what happens. Thanks to RickBusciglio for posting Deep Purple with Bea singing. My dad was one of the trumpet players. This was his first recording with Larry Clinton and he had a small solo right after the vocal. I'm so happy to be able to hear it. Thanks again.
Bea had incredible grace and style, plus she had a major hand in how the songs were played (tempo and key) .All of that and she was only paid $30 for each set of 4 songs she recorded. ---MK
