  • This is not it's final mission because on it's final mission it was dark when it landed on it's last flight

  • Space exploration is dumb. We should use that money to feed homeless bums and make sure all anchor babies get brand new leaf blowers when they come of age.

  • @AdognamedOp fuck homeless bums, most of them could get a job if they tried, alot of people go on welfare when they get laid off and don't look for another Job because they know they'll get a check every month without work, we should reorganize the welfare to where it helps people find jobs, and gives them commodities (Like food, shelter, etc. etc.) instead of just paying their way

  • @lgmmrm Would be nice. Switch to a sales tax instead of such high income taxes, eliminate the IRS, then switch all the money wasted on IRS to do the paperwork for ensuring people get their necessary bills paid instead of giving them cash ;D

  • @tiatdivad We dont want them to go for another 25 years, we want America to build a new craft or shuttle that can take our astronaughts into DEEP Space and sustain ther trips for longer

  • @Kz2Rambo118 Yes China and Russia will build these crafts .I don't think america will send humans to space in the foreseeable future .They are nearly bankrupt .

  • Yep, wrong footage. It was very dark outside yesterday when Atlantis landed.

  • Perhaps this is STS-132 which landed at 8:49, May 14th 2010. That would explain the posting date of this video. Maybe that was intended to be the last flight of Atlantis.

  • this is an older landing.......final landing happened at 5:57 am....it was still dark

  • Dear All,

I have some question about psychology & sociology:

    (1) Why do we love space flying?

    (2) Why do human want to put a lot of effort and money to design space shuttle?

    (3) When we dream about the next generation of new space vehicle, where should we start our thinking for inspiration?

    (4) How will we benefit in long term when NASA contract space transportation to outside companies?

    (5) What style should we travel to space again?

THANK YOU for your creative ideas!!! :)

  • its about 1 million per pound! for the US and RU and commercial satellite company's.

  • ITS FINAL LANDING WAS TODAY AT 5:50

  • In order for shuttle to land like an airplane, shuttle has to be a Heavy lift rocket (an all the major expens involved with a heavy lift system). Landing gear adds a lot of weight. It takes 1 hour for Shuttle to de-orbit and land. Only the last 40 seconds can the wings actually used for landing as it gets below 750 mph from 17500 mph. The reward of landing like an airplane was totally NOT work the expense of 1.6 Billion a flight.

  • @ti994apc You're a Russian, aren't you.

  • i don't get it we spent billions going to space and billions on the shuttles and the international space station BUT NOW WE HAVE HITCH HICK TO THE SPACE STATION LIKE A BROKE COLLAGE STUDENT WITHOUT A CAR

  • @atnipjoe going to space is a little more complicated than driving a car.

  • @Zamolxes77 Surely not.

  • Nice landing. Awesome controlled crash is basically what that is by an awesome pilot. The Shuttle won't fly like a normal aircraft so it comes down faster to be able to stay in the air to make the runway. Otherwise it would drop like a rock. Awesome Job.!

  • Steve Lindsey can rap about whatever he wants, spaceships, milky ways, imma buy the album .

  • Nicely done.

  • Un atterrissage PARFAIT !

  • If we had Falcon9 rather than Shuttle and spent the same money for 135 Shuttle flights we would have had 4995 Falcon9 flights. To put that in perspective Shuttle carried 945 to space with 14 dead and Falcon9 would carried 34,965 people into space with 0 deaths. That is is 34,020 people that did not get to go into space because we think its cool to land like an airplane.

  • Buran doesn't fly... If you like it better that way I can sell you a lot of designs, homemade, that look even better than Buran but they do not go into space either, $1 million each, we have a deal?

  • @tiatdivad yep there being bought by different museums for 20million EURO a piece.

    A Bargain!

  • that would be funny is the shuttle transformed...lol

  • Holy crap... textbook landing.

    So long, Atlantis!

  • 2 more to go.

  • isnt it kinda ironic that this is posted by russia today?

  • Реально, летающий кирпич

    Actually, it's a flying brick

  • lubovniki*.*org

  • смотри lubovniki(.)org

  • Yeah, but now they're saying Atlantis could fly again. Google it.

  • that thing is damn old I like Russia' s Buran better!

  • Great job.

We know Columbia and Challenger will never be used as names again.

  • that shuttle is older then dirt, still uses fuel

  • If they don't know what to do with it, maybe they should stick an engine on it and shove it up British Petroliums ass!

  • It's cool and all, but do we really need to keep going up there? I mean so far, I got Tang and a memory foam pillow out of the deal. Seems a lil pricey if ya ask me! I think our borrowed money could be better spent.

  • @MyDadsRubberBroke Don't forget Velcro.

  • @KimberleyRobbins I could've come up with velcro when I was a lil kid and saw a black kid stick a pencil in his fro.

  • \o/ go space shuttle go \o/

  • mars iz next ... :P

  • @bbhebe weve been there wake up

  • wat u trien to say russia goodbye nasa your days r over lol

  • Great landing, sad it will be the last :(

  • @Billy982810

What moon are you referring to, it is only 238 thousand miles to the moon NOT 238 million.

  • @eilselinnad Thanks for correcting me I meant 500 thousand.

  • @Billy982810 The Moons furthest point in it's orbit around the Earth is about 252,088 miles. Where did you come up with 500 million? Better re-think your math.

  • @Billy982810 The walls of the shuttle would have to be six feet thick in order to survive the Van Allen radiation belt

  • @Billy982810 What the fuck are you talking about?

  • @Billy982810 i don't understand your logic please explain

  • @Billy982810 I think the phrase is "do the math"

  • @Billy982810 The moon is 238,857 miles away the rocket only flew up the rest was taken with the eagle you retarded Canadian fuck

  • @Billy982810

You shouldnt even be allowed to use the word maths you dumb fuck. 1 flight to the moon and is approximately 760.000km. 500 million miles is the distance from Mars and back when Mars is furthest away.

  • @Billy982810 yeah they faked the moon landing and did it in area 51 americans lie to be famous

  • @Billy982810 ...also the moon is made of cheese.

  • great landing i must say so
