I have such a love/hate relationship with this song. Sometimes I love it b/c the lyrics are just plain gorgeous and well, it's Amy. Other times, I just can't get past the arrangement, live or studio. Perhaps my dislike is with the piano part and its flip flop from elevator music to cheesy drama; I think I would've liked an acoustic guitar backing better. The piano part as is just clashes with her gorgeous voice.

I so admire her for the risks she takes when performing live. She lets her voice stay rough and real at times, lets it break or tumble just like a really talented performer does with an instrument, Miles Davis comes to mind for having done that. I've never liked the vocalists who try to sound crystal clear and perfect, I like to hear the human in the voice.
Her live performances are never the same twice because she's such an amazing creative artist. That's what live is supposed to be, as opposed to what so many live performers do which is try their best to sound exactly like the recorded versions. That's when performances become cookie cutter, painfully boring, predictable...and no one will ever be able to say that about Amy Winehouse.
