  • Everyone who has left a negative comment obviously can't handle Glenn's fierceness.

  • Can you post Younger Than Springtime with Harry Connick Jr PWEASE?

  • I agree with all those that said Glenn Close, through no fault of her own, was not the person to cast in this role, and for reasons already stated. I realize this was filmed right after "101 Dalmatians" put her name back in headlines for a minute, but seriously.

  • Not puting the production down, it was good, but nothing can compare to the 58' version, just my opinion.

  • Whenever I hear this song, I just can't help but think of PJ Harvey.

  • Sorry to say it, but Mitzi Gaynor is way better....

  • omg

  • Nellie was prettier in the original....

  • ellen DeGeneres?

  • THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG IN MY FAVORITE MUSICAL OF ALL TIME! I TRULY BELIEVE ALL OF US DO THIS WHEN WE'RE JILTED! ♫PEACE VIA MUSIC♫ VIVA MARIA!

  • Yep, Glenn Close is an amazing talent, but she's far too mature to play this role. Mitzi Gaynor was ideal as the naive young girl who is overwhelmed and unsure how to handle a budding romance with her mysterious and possibly dangerous older man. At Close's age, she's surely been around the block a few times... she's in her 60s! And the actor playing her mysterious "older" man is only a year older than she!

Nope, you can't top Mitzi Gaynor in the original film. ;-) Close is miscast.

  • @Jenifpoll,

Agreed. Close is anything but feminine and a lousy actress to boot.

  • kinda looks like ellen

  • the old version is better

  • Glenn's version is much better than Mitzi's lets face could Mitzi have played in Fatal Attraction or a lawyer in Jagged Edge their is only 1 Glenn no one else as her talent

  • Wrong you know nothing....k

  • At least she's handling it better than in Fatal Attraction.

  • Yeppers I'm gonna wash that man right outta my hair!

  • 50ish, aristocratic, Close as Nelly Forebush?! What could they have been thinking?!

  • She's far too old! Nellie and Emile are supposed to have a noticeable age gap as well as different nationalities.

  • Glenn Close actually a 55 year-old full bird colonel here masquerading as a 2nd Lt.

When she "washes that man right out of her hair" she can then have little

    Nellie to herself.

  • OMG that is a really weird song.

  • miscast

  • i enjoy it so much

  • Hey it's glen close! I didn't know she could sing!

  • @TaleahHannah She was great in the musical Sunset Blvd.

  • Movie version of Sunset Boulevard? I don' think there will be one. She is a tad too old for this part but I adore her. She looks particularly old when her hair is wet. But what a talent. I loved her in Sunset Boulevard but I wish I'd also seen Betty Buckley.

  • @roccoh21 My friend got to see Betty Buckley when she was in it. It was great!

  • at least she can sing it.

  • wtf?? she was wayy too old for this part

  • @Lily25ist maybe she meet all the little'uns to the part with her awesomeness

  • @Lily25ist Another shithead. I was overseas in 1961, and I saw this movie with dozens of bods, and you know shit. So shut up!!!!!!"

  • @Lily25ist yes it is weird to see her play this role especially the duet scene "some enchanted evening"

  • Comment removed

  • Glenn Close looks like a big man the real Nellie was petite and lovely Glenn looks nothing like the small original HE can't sing there is nothing cute about that transgendered man!

  • What "real" Nellie?

Anyway, I love how Glenn Close looks like a woman who would be involved in a war, not some dainty feminine model who'd look totally out of place.

  • sorry Glen CLose, but you aint Mitzy Gaynor. four stars cuz I love this song. But I be liking the original from the movie or the stage show.

  • Glen Close is an amazing talent. However, she is just to wise and sophisticated to fulfill the basic requirement of Nellie's character: naivety. In order to sympathize with her attitudes, we need to understand that she lacks a certain amount of exposure - largely due to her youth. But I can't wait to see Close in the movie version of SUNSET BLVD!!!

  • @showtunestarpower There's already a film version of "Sunset Boulevard" so I'm gonna assume you're talking about the musical film version of the Broadway play based on the 1950 film.

I'm sure Close has her fans as Norma but to me, nobody beats Swanson.

  • @showtunestarpower Is that confirmed? I heard that as a rumor. I would love to see her in it!

  • I'm playing Nellie in my church's production of South Pacific and I'm watching every version possible of every song. I love the part!

  • I spot Helen Dallimore! Love her!

  • Don't be stupid. Glenn Close is incredible, no matter who her predecessor was. Besides, it's a musical. It's meant to be redone and recast hundreds of times, and it always will be. The important thing is that she can bring a smile to her audience's face.

  • thanks so much for uploading! it's hard to get that movie in europe! glenn close is just sooo amazing!

  • Do you have the whole movie? I saw it when it was first on t.v. and I'd love to see it again.
