  • haha the road was closed to headingley on the #1 highway the other day because of the bad weather. too funny! and the tip about using floor mats for grip does work!

  • Haha fail this is a Minnesota accent, don`t they take the time to actually listen to how Manitobans talk or do they just think everyone in Canada sounds like a Minnesotan loll

  • I just realized, Americans think the Canadian accent sound like Scandinavian.

  • What's best to represent a flat prairie city? Why, a ski lodge with tall pine trees outside, of course!

  • yaaa they really aren't doing it right

  • They sound Scottish.

  • I'm from winnipeg. it's almost the end of february and no roads have been closed this winter at all. and it was only -10 last night. GET YOUR SHIT RIGHT!!!!!

  • @Molecularmel 'Tis a mild winter dis year ya know, eh

  • It should be ohhhhhhhhhhhh.ca

  • Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh SNL sure has gone downhill

  • What are they, fucking Norwegian? Weak.

  • They sound like everyone in "Fargo".

  • I'm from Winnipeg. This accent isn't even close. Is this what we sound like to Americans? I get it, we lengthen certain vowels and shorten others. I love the way Canadian accents are portrayed on South Park and how they're nowhere close to accurate, but this is just lazy. It's like they decided that Minnesoooota and Wiscaaaaansin are pretty much Canada so those people must talk like them.

  • their accent fucking sucks and they call themselves actors

  • sounds like irish accent

  • @jassal1990 no-it-really-doesnt

  • So I guess they watched Fargo to prepare for this skit. Which makes sense, seeing as that movie takes place in... Minnesota...

  • fred armisens accent switched to like 5 different countires

  • This is just bad. They sound like Americans from the northern states not Canadians.

  • wow this sucks, but what else from snl. This sounds like fargo.

  • ahahaha, Winnipeg is my hometown!

  • check out my channel i have a funny video....

  • This is so fake, there are no trees in saskatoon

  • Wiig sounds scottish half the time.

  • Fucking dumbass Americans. Does Neil Young sound like this? Does Justin Biebers dad sound like this? How about Homer Simpson. Being from Wpg, I thought this would be funny. Why do Americans think we talk like this? They never make fun of Canadians running wild in the US, like Beiber, Young, Mike Myers, James Cameron, Drake, Nickleback and Jim Carey. LAME

  • Nice Norwegian/swedish/english accent guys dead on

  • Fellow Candians stoop taking this so poorly and start bitching baout the quality and the volume of the video.

  • wtf... that is not evne close to CANADIAN. How can you try and make a skit and not veven have anything down pack right? This was 100% CRAP, not even funny. BOOOORING. On top of this how embarrassing to AMERICA, you guys amde fun of your selves... this sounds more minnestoa, wow talking about HOW EMBARRASSING

  • @Y2JesseMartin Cool down kid. Your're an embarrassment to Canada.

  • @kdemon17 He's right though.

  • @claudhop6 Not necessarily, the maritime tend to have that accent. But most don't, it's a joke! EVERYONE COOL YOUR JETS (and ram them into the twin- nvm)

  • @kdemon17 I am from Winnipeg and now live in the Maritimes. There is no accent in Canada, especially the Maritimes, that is even close to what is being portrayed here.

  • @LordUnas Sorry. I'll take you'r word for it, didn't wan't to spread rumors.

  • This making fun of the Fargo movie characters, which are NOT Canadian.

  • it's kinda funny...but yeah...those accents are really bad. Kinda like Fargo.

  • pretty terrible accents, that`s minnesota.

  • Overeacting to satire? For shame Canada, for shame.

  • These are god-awful Canadian accents...

  • That sounds more Scottish than Canadian.

  • Seriously .. we Canadians don't talk like that ....Sarah Palin sounds like that but she is AMERICAN!!

  • Lol they got what they know about canada from SCTV and even they made fun of themselves. Americans are so lazy, can't even do any research. The girl sounds like she is ripping off Tina Fey's Sarah Palin voice and the rest do sound like they ripped off the voice from Fargo like someone mentioned before

  • It's a bit of a mix between North Dakota, Wisconsin and Ireland. Also, I don't get the oooooooooohhhhhhh part.

  • they tried to recreate the accents from fargo.

  • The point is all Canadians don't have an accent

  • im from winnipeg... dead on!

  • You been watching FARGO? That is Minnesoooota not Canada. FAIL at accents.

  • Let's be honest people from Winnipeg who like SNL will love this but seriously we don't sound like this but the roads in winter are closed :P lol

  • This just isn't very funny, and honestly I wouldn't expect any American show to know enough about the regional cultures in Canada to be able to make it funny but they seem like they didn't even try. The only good part was ZG whose over done accent seems to be making fun of how badly they are doing the accent. They should have watch a little The Great White North to see how it's done.

  • they sound more like people from Minnesota or north/south Dakota

  • Ok maybe newfoundlanders or "newfies" have that accent but other Canadian don't

  • @MaddDogg81 wow. have you ever actually heard a newfoundland accent? it's practically the opposite of this.

  • Why do Americans think Canadians sound like American Midwesterners. Here they almost sound part Swedish as well.

  • I'm from Winnipeg. Their accent sounds more like people from North/South Dakota than here.

  • I think they watched the movie Fargo, and said "North Dakota... Canada... meh, close enough".

  • I always find it hard to find a good spoof of Canadian culture. Usually, only Canadians who can poke fun at themselves will make them really funny. But this is just a bunch of stereotypes that would be funny if there was only one inch of truth to them. I am grateful for one thing though; to be stereotyped for being overly nice is pretty awesome.

  • Their accent is no way close to a Winnipegger's accent! Lol But I must say it's funny!

  • I'm from Winnipeg, and I thinks this is really funny!! Although, did you notice that they said the babysitter is in MANITOBA so she might not make it...... Aren't they supposed to be in the peg already?

  • that sucked, they sound more Scottish or from the Newfoundland..lame ...

  • The accent starts off unidentifiable, then goes straight to 'shitty Irish'

  • I guess they've never seen a Great White North sketch on SCTV, or Strange Brew. A few minutes of listening to Bob McKenzie and his brother Doug would've given them a much more appropriate accent to use, eh.

  • This is a midwestern US accent - not Canadian at all.

  • @wellyes yes more Minnesota than Canadian :)

  • ahahahaha as a winnipegger i find this very amusing :P

  • Trying to make fun of Canadians by sounding like Americans from Minnesota lol. fail.

  • @InglebertHumperdink1

A lot of people from southern Manitoba and Ontario DO sound like Minnesotans... to other Americans

  • The accent is more Minnesota than Canadian.

  • They said Winnipeg right? Why the Fargo accent?

  • man..I'm canadian, and no one I knows sounds like this, maybe out east they do

  • fuck snakes its cold up here

  • could use a box of Tim bits and the Wpg Sun.

  • Yeah, they've got the idea here but the accents aren't perfect. More Fargo, MN and native Indian than the hybrid Peggers speak that falls between the two. Sounds like Wiig changed hers halfway through to Irish. Notice Armisen said "up in Manitoba":.. for shame. One last thing: As a comedic technique overexplaining can be funny but SNL has got into this habit of shortcutting. Why don't we just realize for ourselves that this celebrity gossip show is, in contrast to the others, "really nice"?

  • @TurtleJack100 That reminds me of a commercial that airs in Ottawa for a casino in upstate New York. They invite us to "come on up to the north country", even though it's south of here.

  • Sounds like everyone from Minnesota..

  • What the fuck is she doing with her voice? GO JETS GO!!!

  • Ech...

This is like setting a sketch in Australia but everyone sounds like they're from Yorkshire.

Too bad, an accurate really strong Canadian accent IS pretty funny.

  • Zachs new york accent comes through when he sais ".com" lol ".cawm"

  • Accents are somewhat accurate! But one thing isn't we aren't all that nice. Especially Winnipegers. Winnipegers are all miserable, depressed and spend much of their lives trying to leave Winnipeg. Esspecially the younger generation.

  • I love americans making fun of Canadians all they can say is we are such nice people and we don't give a shit about other peopples affairs. Sounds just like me. GO JETS GO

  • Epic fail. Winnipeg is NOT in Minnesota.

  • what the fuck was that?! this is the stupidest thing ever.

  • yeah this isn't close to accurate, i expected better from SNL. We aren't Germans! haha, sorry :)

  • why they talk like fake german?

  • shouldn't that be ohhhhhhhhh.ca?

  • go winnipeg !

  • retarded

  • We love you canadians, we truly do :)

  • I'm Canadian, and you guys who were insulted, seriously have to lighten up... I thought this was friggin' hilarious.... especially all the snow when they open the door and the Moose producer..ha.. other than the stupid voices, look at how Americans see us: polite, friendly, and happy-go-lucky... what's wrong with that?... this is awesome!...

  • it should be "ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.ca" haha :D

  • This clips reminds me of the movie Fargo somehow.

  • My family and friends all talk like this...Go Canada!!!!

  • they sound German, not Canadian lol, we don't really say 'ya' that much lol

  • @franguii ya, we do.

  • they sound like they're doing a really bad imitation of an irish accent. i'm from winnipeg and i'm not offended at all, it just makes them look stupid. at least we know how to deal with snow, the US gets like 2 inches and shuts down. haha snl sucks.

  • lol I don't think canadians sound like this. They sound same as us. People who live in like.. alaska and minnesota sound like this haha.

  • I'm from Wpg and although this skit wasn't really funny to me, isn't imitation (even poor at best) the sincerest form of flattery? Go Canada! :)

  • @viperwedgie i'm from canada..your a homo

  • @paulymcfly have you forgotten your sense of humor? One of our country's biggest export to the rest of the world. Grab a Timmys and don't take yourself too seriously. Life's too short.

  • @viperwedgie To all 21 canadans who liked that...u guys are making us look like such. pussys. "isn't imitation (even poor at best) the sincerest form of flattery?" what a homo

  • didn't know we had irish accents in canada?

  • Biggest FAIL ever recorded lol

  • hows your dad? oh sure

  • @DannyGloverIsAwesome your a fucking fag and you should die. fuck you nigger

  • im from winnipeg, noboby talks like that

  • If I saw this skit at my sons elementary school christmas special it would have been funny. With adult performers and writers it's kind of sad.

  • sensitive canadians.

  • winnipeg is a joke city, fuck that place everyone should die

  • @DannyGloverIsAwesome Let Me guess... Your dad lived in Winnipeg but you lived in the US with your mom(major slut btw) and every second summer you had to stay with your dad in Winnipeg but every night your dad made you wear a dress and sit on his and his friends' laps and that just gave you a bitter attitude towards Winnipeg. Is that it? Yeah thats it... umad bro? go have a crywank you little pole smoker

  • @JUNIORxMAFIAx4xLIFE OMG, I know that kid's dad. We were friends. I'd go over on poker nights. Good times.

  • I LOVE THE ACCENT SO MUCH!!!! AHAHA!

    ~Canadian

  • The Canadians complaining really need to loosen up. Complaining about this not being an accurate representation of Canadians is like complaining The Simpsons isn't an accurate representation of Americans. Besides, if a sketch basically saying how nice and friendly you all are offends you, perhaps it really IS inaccurate after all.

  • LOL Funny Video love SNL

  • The point of a satyr is to push to the extreme to make it seem funny. The simpson's is certainly not an accurate representation of an american family, and that is why it is funny.

  • @Sterwinable The only problem people are finding is with the accents and that it just wasn't funny. The Simpsons don't mock Americans with a fake accent and it's actually funny. SNL has a great cast and since the scripts are usually terrible, the characters are the onlly thing to hang on to so when they miss, it's disappointing.

  • Outside of saying "eh" a couple times, that's a Fargo accent (just do a search here if you don't believe me). Looks a little like Fargo weather too.

Sigh. I remember when when SNL was loaded with Canadians who could put some original jokes or insight into a skit like this. Instead I think the SNL writers did their research with a map and darts, but the South Park guys are much funnier at it.

  • I only found this funny because I'm from winnipeg XD

  • Canada= America junior!

  • All you people moaning about the accent need to shut up. It's obviously over-the-top for the sake of comedy. Get a sense of humour.

  • FARGO!

  • Bill Hader sounds like he's from Sweden,Kristen Wiig sounds like Sarah Palin and Fred Armisen idk what the hell he sounds like. This skit was horrible and not even close to being Canadian. Its not that its making fun of Canada, tis just a really bad attempt at a parody. It would have been good if it.....was funny but it wasn't and the accents were horrible

  • @ChrisSousaPortugal Dude, are you even from Canada? Take it from someone like me who is. It is funny if you know how to laugh at yourself and fellow canadians.

  • @flycooley I live in Canada and know the accents here. Fact is, the accents they do suck and sound nothing like any part of Canada. Its the typical"always snowing" jokes..ok we get it, Canada gets cold . If its funny, its funny but this sketch wasn't

  • what is that? be don't talk like that and we surely don't dress like that, we are very cosmopolitan and live in big cities

  • @italo36 It's called satire and stereotype. Around the world, practically every country has big cities. Nothing funny about that. And yes, many of us do dress like that.

  • This is so not Canada. FAIL

  • I didn't know Winnipeg was in Minnesota.

  • @MGregoir According to Fred at 0:25 Winnipeg is apparently not in Manitoba!

  • I thought for a second I was watching the trailer for "Fargo"...

  • oh gosh you know the bof look nice

    the roads are closed

    oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeah

  • hahah i moved to canada and this is how everyone sounds to me!

  • I'm from Manitoba and i think this is flippin HILARIOUS!!!!!

  • @theestrookees

that is so aweful to say.

just because one american sketch is bad and 'insulting' doesn't mean we deserve to have thousands of people die from a terrorist attack.

  • okay people need to chill and not be so mean. I'm American and I've been to Canada and it is an amazing place with amazing people. the people who are getting so offended and calling everyone in America stupid and ignorant are way out of line. just because one American sketch is 'bad' doesn't mean the whole country is awful. and besides the sketch isn't that offensive except the accent. they were saying how kind and nice Canadians were which is a good thing. we don't need more hate in the world

  • This is more Wisconsin not Canada.

  • I thought this was pretty damn funny, and I live in Winnipeg. Everyone is taking this like it is suppose to be offensive but if they made fun of Americans (themselves), then all the Canadians would think it is hilairious. People have to learn to lighten up.

  • Relax, people.

    It's comedy.

  • come and get this hockey puck bitch!

  • Didn't any of these people study acting at all? I thought actors were taught dilects and accents. I'm Canadian and that's not even close. If your Canadian and you think this is funny, then your probably the reason why we get so fucking worked up after a hockey game you piece of shit asshole - suck up - cockfucker!

  • @MrGarthjohn people like u are the reason te u.s is going to invade

  • @Sirpackerfan8812 up your nose whith a rubber hose you frigg'n arsehole! This ain't Afganistan. We drown kitty's in frozen lakes because we're so fucking bored. Come and get some hockey puck bitch!

  • @MrGarthjohn WTF?!?!?!?!?!

  • @Sirpackerfan8812 No, your the fuck! Arsewipe!

  • @MrGarthjohn what the hell does that mean in your conadein lingo

  • Comment removed

  • WTF?? What part of Canada do they have ppl that talk like this!? They sound like Sarah Palin! Dumbasses....

  • Haha this is so funny. I'm from Canada, and i always love it when people think we talk like this. Haha its just a spoof, people dont get worked up. I thought it was funny.

  • The only person ive ever heard talking like that is ur fellow american sarah palin

  • FUCK THIS

iM CANADIAN LIVInG IN TORONTO AND HAVE NEVER SEEN A MOOSE IN MY LIFe

Ive checked and there isnt even 1 moose producer in all of canada!!!!

  • @allthatjazzandmore1 You checked? Isn't it pretty obvious that moose do not produce talk shows?

  • lol obviously its exaggerated but im from winnipeg and if you ever go to tim's you will hear a group of seniors sitting around, drinking coffee and sounding exactly like this! its funny if you're from here because its actually true! plus the roads are always closed haha!

  • I'm from the Canadian prairies....we do not talk like Hutterites or Amish people. We also do not sound like Minnesotans why do Americans just assume we sound like this? We sound NOTHING like this at all.... but I did find this funny.. that Zach guy cracks me up.

  • "Hi Bernard, how's your dad?" " Oh, sure."

  • THEY BOTH LOOK NICE!!

Ps. best example of the Canadian "hoser" accent is Jay Baruch's performance in "Knocked Up". He's Canadian, but he's from Montreal, so you know even he's putting it on.

  • My version of this is a lot LOUDER! hehe

  • Wow ppl really need to lighten up. I live in Louisiana and NOBODY gets the accent right but Im not going to start an internation incident over it. Its a PARODY. An EXAGGERATION. Maybe just maybe they are portraying 4 Winnepeggers who DO talk like this. My gosh.

  • Well - I'm from Winnipeg, and I think it's funny. This is a profoundly exaggerated rural Minnesotan accent in the skit, and who in the U.S. would actually know that Winnipegers don't actually sound like this? We sound more like hosers (google Bob and Doug McKenzie). LOL :)

  • Comment removed

  • If you want to see a good American imitation of the Canadian accent, watch The Simpsons. They're spot on, eh?

Yah, and, what's with the ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh guy? How in any way does that relate to Winnipeg or Manitoba or Canada? I don't get it. And I live just outside of Winnipeg.

I'd like to see them continue the segment, but, work on the accent guys.

  • I think this skit truly shows how ignorant Americans are. I'm kind of glad 9/11 happened, maybe if those war monger Americans weren't so busy drinking galloons of corporate monster Starbucks, they'd actually pay attention to the world around them.

  • Yeah, he might not make it to LA because the road to California is out.

Makes about as much sense as 0:24 .

  • nothing worse then a canadian that cant make fun of their own hilarious true stereotypes - thats literally the best thing about us canadians - fuck off go buy a sense of humour

  • This is terrible. I can appreciate it when people make fun of Canada - when it's actually funny.

  • Kristen wiig is so unfunny, it's not even funny

  • Only Russel Peters can do the Canadian accent. And Indian accent. And Chinese accent.

  • im canadian. None of these jokes have anything real invloved.

  • the people who talk like that up here are the fat & jolly aboriginal people :)

  • I'm from Winnipeg and we definitely dont talk like that...and could care less when the roads are closed lol, we'll drive anyway...still funny though...love the part with the producer/moose

  • Hello Bernard, how's your dad?

    Oh sure

    bahahaha

  • true true, they picked up so correct. YOOOOO, its so private. stupid uptight idiots

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • This is so stupid, I don't know any Canadian that talks like that.

  • @OkeyDokey23 THATS WHAT FUNNY ABOUT IT!!!!!!
