  • Great play Sir well done

  • Thanks Daniel!

  • Awesome!

  • I always loved the George Harrison/Pete Ham acoustic guitar version at The Concert for Bangladesh. Your ukulele rendition is excellent, great work!

  • @MusicFanMark Yes, I like the Bangladesh version too! ~ DC PS: More covers at my "dccardwellcovers" channel ;)

  • What a lovely version of HCTS, and that Kala sounds as sweet as a nut.

  • @AlliBee Thanks Alli! And I'm just enjoying your lovely cover of Sister Rosetta - I'm a huge Sam Phillips fan!

  • This Needs Wayyyyyy More Views! this is amazing excellent playing my man!

  • Hey...that's beautiful. Especially on a November 12 rainy day in Surrey.

  • Thumbs up!

  • what a sweet rendition of this old favorite!

    ♥♫♥

  • This is terrific. What a lovely version. And I agree with what others have said about your ukulele playing. It's great, really sweet and clear. Well done, and thanks for posting.

  • @GhostontheMoor Glad you like it!

  • @cardweller Prompted by this clip, I finally got round to leaving you something for the "Some Hope" download over at Noise Trade. Thanks for the music!

  • höfner beatles violin bass in the background...yey!

  • @thesillyone42 Only an old cheap copy, I'm afraid, but I love it and use it on all my recordings!

  • Very nice music and composition..My warmest wishes to you in all your compositions..I adore the song," Here comes the sun"-- Beautiful..Zuzanna

  • @Susanna129 Thanks Zuzanna!

  • You are a very talented musician. I love this song!!! Your tribute to George with this song and playing the uke feels so heartfelt! You play the uke so well!!! You are inspiring and I can't wait to see the movie! Thank you for uploading this! It is a gem! Blessings, min :-)

  • @practicing4 Thank you Min! The movie's great - long, but great!

  • You are amazing! Your rendition is just beautiful...

  • @LimpingFlea Glad you like it! There are more covers on my dccardwellcovers channel, and originals on my cardwell channel - DC :)

  • Very cool.

  • @benthemiester Thanks! Having a listen to some of your playing - nice work! I particularly like your version of "Cant find my way home" - the warbly guitar sound works surprisingly well and the acoustic section's lovely too. Fantastic playing all round - very effortless and you have very good feel. ~ DC

  • @cardwell Yeah thanks for the compliment. The warbly guitar sound = rotary speaker emulation on line 6 pod.

In the last few months I have gained a new admiration for the Ukelele. Again great version of a great song. Harrison was in many ways underrated.

  • Love this. Sounds really great. You have inspired to practice my Uke

     Frank

  • could you make a tutorial, or show the tabs?

  • @thesillyone42 Sorry I don't have tabs for this as I just "play it by ear" and I don't really have the patience to make them! I don't think I play it the same way twice either. Maybe if enough people ask, but I can't promise. Perhaps I'll make another video with a clearer view of my fingers. Thanks for listening, and please have a look at my main "cardwell" channel too! DC

  • This is absolutely masterly...Wow!

  • @unklecyril Thanks!

  • beautifully done by the way and yes ... I'm really impressed with your flatpicking on the Uke O^O! ... but hey what do I know .... :P

a very enjoyable vid, A thumbs up and a sub from me ... ;)

And you got that sound from your cameras mike .... wow ... I really must start trying to post and have a go myself ... I'm not in your league you understand, but well it is in the fun of it ...

    cheers Billy

  • that is a beautiful sound from your uke, a spalted or flame maple kala with a spruce top I do believe. what sort of pickup or mike are you using to get such a nice sound?

    ... Cheers Billy

  • @CerylTrini Thanks Billy! Yes indeed it is a spalted maple uke, a gorgeous little instrument I got last year, and my first real uke. I recorded this with the little Zoom Q3HD camera, which has really god built-in mics.

  • Positively mindblowing. Amazing.

  • Muy bueno, me gusto, saludos desde Argentina.

  • @charly1344 Thanks!

  • @charly1344 Greetings from Australia!

  • More than an attempt. I'll call it a success.

  • Fantastic! Love it! Good job!!!!!

  • what a nice sound

  • Timeless great song, also great interpretation on ukulele, George's favourite string instrument, by you - thank you DC, also for Youtube friendship invitation!

As little thank you, I just have included your video for explanations at my George website (see profile) with something you might haven't known about George yet....

  • Great ....the way you play and sing seems effortless, very relaxing. George along with John were always my favourite Beatles.

  • @KingslandKen Thanks mate! Maybe if I made more of an effort there'd be fewer mistakes, haha! But I like to think it's all about the feel...

  • Such a great song <3

  • Hi DC, thanks for sharing your version! I'm glad you were inspired to perform it on the Ukelele. It reminded us a bit of Joe Brown (which is a good thing)!

  • @TheCherryBluestorms I was *thinking* of trying I'll See you In My Dreams. Samuel and I play it in Django style, but I can kinda do it on uke, I think.

  • @cardwellers That sounds like fun! I certainly love Joe Brown's version on the uke. Did you see "Concert For George"? You are getting loads of downloads quickly on "Here Comes The Sun". Bravo!

  • @TheCherryBluestorms Concert For George was one of those perfect happenings! At least judging by the DVD. Joe Brown is great on it.

  • @cardwell That's cool that you've seen that as well. Yes he is... On a separate note, if there was a way for us to get over there, Glen could play guitar for you, your son would play drums, I could sing back up and Glen and I could open for you. ;-)

  • @TheCherryBluestorms That would be very cool but I can't make my gigs pay for the car trip into the city so two cross-pacific flights would really be stretching it!

  • @cardwell :-) We understand. Have you tried "Music Marketing Manifesto to increase your internet sales? We are just starting that. It certainly looks like you have your youtube portion working that way with views and downloads already for this song. Some of the musicians that are in the "Inner Circle" forum of that are having great results. We are about to see if it helps us. I'll let you know after the first part of the year. It definitely seems promising.

  • @TheCherryBluestorms I'll have a look at that site, and thanks for the tip. When it comes to "getting my music out there" I'm pretty good, but when it comes to "selling" I'm an abject failure, haha! I don't think I really have it in me. I would love to hear how you guys go with the MMM though. Any tips are much appreciated.

  • Love your rendition, can't help but sing along. ... Georgie would have been proud. C: xox

  • @ThisBirdHazFlown Thanks - what a nice thing to say!

  • Great singing and playing! Loved it. Lee

  • @OldFartsChannel Cheers! DC

  • Just two words: Excellent, man!!

  • @MrWaywayfarer Thanks Bob! Thanks Rob!

  • NICE !

  • I thought the uke was a strummer. Nice.

  • @eBe4IXcept I just pretend its a guitar and do the same thing on it as I'd do with 6 strings! With a few adjustments...

  • Love this, David!

  • @sweetlittlesheila67 Thanks! Are you Sweet Little Sheila from BC? SK? Or another Sweet Little Sheila?

  • @cardwellers Yup, that's me :)

  • @sweetlittlesheila67 Thought it was you! Now I know you really are sweet and it's not just hype!

  • Thanks for posting this. It was great. Great uke playing!

  • @TheSimonBrookes Thank you Sir!

  • Great :-) Like it
