i love this version , cant wait for your new album to hear your cover of bob dylan thunder on thwe mountin , one of the last great artists , i love u wanda =)
OK, Tom, the Queen of Rockabilly is on my 1969 list now.
She made the Rock & Roll hall of fame in April 2009 as an early influence. In the late 70s - early 80's we called this crossover-country, and I loved it - always beautiful arrangements backing the singers.
She first recorded in 1954 and was working on an album this year. She has created quite an impressive body of work over the past 55 years.
For my (devalued) 2 cents, this version, to the extent it's different, doesn't add much. The simple and unadorned tone of the original by Garnett (made somehow sweeter by the fact that she never was considered a "star") is more comforting to the ear.
Gale Garnett of course wrote the song and her rendtion is better.

The mellow side of Wanda Jackson. I absolutely love her version of "Candy Man" I think it's better than Orbisons. If you have it, could you post it?

I don't think I have that one. If I do find it sometime though in my collection, I will post it.

I may post it someday, somehow it wasn't included with my other Wanda recordings, although I do have it somewhere.
