You know, I thought Pearl Jam could do a good cover of this, but I didn't like the way Eddie sung on this. I heard it differently in my head than it actually was. Oh well, PJ still kicks ass.
Doesn't anybody know that this was originally a motown song???? The first cover was by the Rationals with Scott Morgan on vocals. The Rationals version swings more than any other version that I've heard. Check out the Rationals CD that was just released from the old days - it was reviewed in Rolling Stone and the CD rocks. Pearl Jam is cool for keeping the song alive some 40 years after it was written. Thanks for posting.
I was of the understanding that it was the classic LP studio version. To me, it seems that I can't differentiate between when Townshend plays and when it is Page, but eh, I read it in Rolling Stone so I'm assuming it is true.
I was a little harsh, so I publically apologize man.
I love Zep btw but if you're a fan are you aware that Page's playing can actually be heard on the Who's 'My Generation'? Tis true, he was a studio musician at one point and apparently a very good one.
I don't listen to the who really, I've listened them few times, that's why I criticise n' all u know, they seemed too much for me to Led Zep but never knew they were first.
And 'bout Page, I only know his former band was The Yardbirds, so I never thought he once played with the who.
I will listen to that song... but what's the version? the studio version I suppouse.

Fuckin' Who, those guys where like a fuckin' copy of Led Zep, just listen to the first words of this song, "Hey fellas have you heard the news..." the same shit of Heartbreaker, but heartbreaker is way much better.
Yeah...dude...DISCLAIMER...please note that I am a larger fan of Zep than The Who...HOWEVER...look up the songs Zeppelin riped off and you'll see much more than one song...regardless, you should be listening to The Pink Floyd.
The Who covered this song (Leavin' Here) before Zep was even together. Research it if you don't believe me. Why do people like you even speak? Amazes me.
Please, feel free to write me. Maybe you and I can be friends.
love this!

I guess that the drummer here is Jack Irons, not Matt Cameron.
However, Matt Cameron rocks!
