  • Thank you sooo much! your really more helpful than my math teacher!

  • Anybody know what kind of equation this is v-7+8=3?

  • @Exz47

You can solve it by combining like terms on the left to get:

    v + 1 = 3

Then subtract one from both sides to get the v by itself.

    v + 1 - 1 = 3 - 1

    v = 2

I hope that helps! Keep working hard on your math! :-)

  • I am only in 6th Grade, and I am in high math, and I have to learn this. I was so stressed and it took so long to find your video. I am so grateful that I found this. Thank you so much!

  • yeah i understand math

  • thanks i was stressing about an upcoming math test but now i feel comfortable with it

  • Tnx

  • mr.brad i have a question what would 1over2 (m-6)=12 be and can you please explain how you got the answer???

  • @BIGECRUNCH

We can either distribute the 1/2 through to get rid of the parenthesis, or we can multiply by the reciprocal. I'll do the second.

    2(1/2)(m - 6) = 12(2)

    m - 6 = 24

Then we add six to get the m by itself.

    m - 6 + 6 = 24 + 6

    m = 30

I hope that was helpful! Keep seeking out help when you have questions! You can do anything you put your mind to! :-)

  • wow this really helped me with my homework on my algebra, i'm in 9th grade living in florida, this is what we are learning right now and it really helped me out!!

  • @Fr3akyElmo12 im in 7th and our problems r reaching all the way across the board!

  • Man you have no clue how much this helped. I am in 8th grade honors math, and we are learning this and I got mad because I didn't understand. Thanks man, your awesome.

  • @Randoms204

You're very welcome! Keep seeking out answering when there's anything you're having trouble with...that will make all the difference!

  • @mbrandl11

I had my quiz today and it was on this. And I got a 100! All because of this video. I guess it gave me a thing of inspiration for a while. I study from 4:30 to 8:30 pm (I live in tennessee). I was so proud of myself. Thanks man,all because of you I like studying now and got a 100 on my quiz. Your awesome!

  • @Randoms204

That's fantastic! I'm very proud of you too! :-) Keep after it!

  • This was very helpful, because my daughter and I was struggling big time. Thanks and God bless.

  • on the problem u did in the green if i were to check that 16-10 would not equal to -6

  • @duhitsangel

Oops! Don't forget to divide by four first.. Then we have 4 - 10 which is -6.

Thanks for the comment! I hope that makes sense! :-)

  • @mbrandl11 thanks

  • thank you very much

  • ty so much man. This helped me so much. Thx.

  • This helped me ALOT i had no idea what i was doing and now i like completely get it! Thank you so much!(:

  • Dude Your awesome

  • This helped my little sister alot now shes doin good in school.!

  • that really helped me on my homework

  • Excellent video!!This helped me alot.

  • How do you solve one step equations with decimals

  • @raulo316

All the same rules apply. You'd just be working with decimal numbers rather than integers.

  • wHAT i AM BIENG TAUGHT IS LIKE M OVER FOUR PLUS 37 AND I DONT GET IT

  • @raulo316 What is your equation equal to? I'll just make it equal to 40 and work it out from there as an example. (m/4) + 37 = 40 Our goal is to get the m by itself. So first we'll subtract 37 from both sides. (m/4) + 37 - 37 = 40 - 37 (m/4) = 3 Then we multiply by four on both sides to get rid of the division by 4. 4(m/4) = 3(4) m = 12 I hope that helps! Keep working at it! :-)
  • @raulo316 Thats basically what he taught on the... First problem. Thats what I am being taught too. Good luck.

  • Dude, you are such a big help. I was struggling in math class for a period of time. Now, I get it!

    Thank you SO much!

  • thanks so much i get those stuff but equations was really hard for me ontill now

  • how did he get the 2?

  • @MrOoglebog

    Which two?

  • @MrOoglebog the 2 came from 11-13

  • my teachers last year and this year have been trying to get my to understand stuff like this for months and you did it in like 7 minutes!!! THANKS SO MUCH!

  • Thx mbrandI11 you helped me alot i am a seventh grader and you helped me learn in less than 7 minutes !!!!

  • You are the most RAD teacher. I am a second term, 32 yr old college student that was struggling hard in algebra! Math is the weakest link. I have spent hours looking at different tutorials and signing up for different things...you have made my math world more clear. Please don't stop doing these. You may not know it but you are helping people....it's awesome charity that is not going un-appreciated! Thank you-

  • I'm a post-college 46 year old graduate & in need of a "refresher course" to help my 7th grader through pre-algebra--your lessons are great, not monotonous and dull like some!! You just might get me through high school with my kids, since I'm "mathematically dyslexic" ;=) Thanks! I'll be checking this site a lot!

  • @flynmum

Thanks for the comments! I'm glad you're finding the videos helpful! :-)

  • OMFG !!!! THANK YOU !!!! i had a homework and 4got how to do this...u saved my life...THX !!! :DD

  • LOL I'm sorry for posting again >.<

But I have ONE more question to ask..

    This inequality thing is really,

    really confusing xD

    Help me solve this? :)

    1 - x/2 < x+2/3

  • @SweetLove5263

See message. I wasn't able to post the answer here. Perhaps due to the < symbols?

  • Hi can you please solve

    (x+2)/ 3 > 2

asap plz I have exams tmr and I can't figure this question out.

    thanks.

  • @SweetLove5263

First, we need to multiply by three on both sides to get rid of the divided by 3.

    3(x + 2)/3 > 2(3)

    Simplify to get:

    x + 2 > 6

Subtract two from both sides to get the x by itself.

    x + 2 - 2 > 6 - 2

    x > 4

I hope that helps! Good luck with the exam!

  • @mbrandl11

    ty ty ty!

  • what would you do if the problem is 3+15x=48, or if the problem is this way 48=15x+3. How do you do those kinds of problems?

  • @barbara4u850

We would go about solving them in a similar way.

We ultimately want to get the variable by itself, so we need to get rid of anything that's hanging out with it.

In both of your examples, we would first get rid of the 3 that's with the 15x by subtracting 3 from both sides.

Then we would have 15x = 48 or 48 = 15x which are the same thing. Finally, we finish by dividing on both sides by what's with the variable (15) to get our answer.

    I hope that helps! :-)

    The same way.

    48=15x+3

    48-3=15x+3-3

    45=15x

    45/15=15x/15

    3=x

  • thanks, this helped a lot!

  • thanks, this helped a lot!

  • thanks alot

    i have a test tommorow

    thanks

  • Is there any way you can show how to do multistep equations with word problems?!?!?!?!? I'm in a real pickle!

  • Do you have some examples?

  • AWW the baby is sooo cute. lol Do u have a video for the beginning of algebra? I have to review all this for my compass test.

  • I have quite a few. Check out my channel and let me know if you have any requests.

  • thank you so much i have a hundred point test tomorrow ive had no idea how to do this but thank you you've helped me in so many ways

    God bless you

  • thank you so much for sharing this it`s verry helpful. god bless and more blessing to you as well :)

  • cool

  • wat pro do you use.

  • I use CamStudio to record the video and a paint program as my whiteboard.

  • Thank you very much thats very help ful.

  • was that a lil girl i heard in the back ground

  • I don't know how to do algebra, but with the help of your audio I'm off to a good start. Thank you for taking time to explain each problem in detail.

  • -a+6=8

    it is incorrect. - a = -2

  • After subtracting 6 from both sides we have:

    -a = 2

Then we divide by -1 on both sides to end up with a = -2

We can check it by putting it back into the problem.

    -(-2) + 6 = 8

A negative, negative is a positive as we have:

    2 + 6 = 8

Two plus six does indead equal eight.

  • What helped was the comment, "You kind of work order of operations in reverse."

  • thank yew sO muchh!!!;

    fOr takin the time.

    i understand it knOw
