i feel in this new opening that we'll get to know Asuma - sensei a bit more and that hidan and kakuzu will make an appearence and they kill 1 or 2 of the gang member we don't know.

But naruto still kills Kakuzu with the resenshuriken. Now in Naruto shippuuden they've mixed up the story line and it's now gonna be unpredictable on when everything is so we just have to watch and see what happens.

ah! yeah i know, jonin's stories were applied in naruto shippuuden and it's older versions. like kurenai's story, the girl she's protectiong the genjustsu master also a jinchuriki. anko too, remembering her past with orochimaru's cursed seal, and many more. including kakashi gaiden. the story of hatake kakashi while he was a kid training with konoha's yellow flash yondaime.

he does not kill kakuzu....almost...but Kakashi finishes him with Raikiri(hes unable to move...so naruto jsut beaten him)

technically speaking Naruto does kill Kakuzu 3 times with that attack. This is again a rip off of Fate/Stay Night's Berserker who was killed several times before actually dying.
