  • I have two friends whose fathers were both US soldiers captured by German soldiers during the Battle of the Bulge. One escaped, the other sat out the rest of the war in a prison camp. These videos serve to remind us of the sacrifices that were commonplace in that generation.

  • !thumbs up! thanks for sharing.. :)

  • Have you all lost your minds? SS, whatever, Nazi's are Nazi's - they killed our men, castrated them, broke legs of people trying to rescue children, burned people alive. I think you all need to do some research and find out just how nice the German people and their soldiers where.

  • @tracker55921 nazi was a party not a people...i dont mean disrespect..my family hav been 2 war 4 many a year...mostly 1st. 2nd. ww..korea.

  • another romance wankfest waste of time

  • My Grandfather fought in this, and he died from cancer before I could ever have the privilege of talking to a veteran in the family. god bless.

  • Never Forget the heroes fighting for our freedom!!

  • Never forget the heroes!!!Fighting for our freedom!!!

  • R.I.P. fallen soldiers

  • respect for all those who died in the first and second WW,that's what everyone says and i believe they're right, but don't forget the ones who fought and survived... R.I.P. for all who fought and died, they're heroes

  • Poor guys :( They are real heroes who lived in this cold hell! :(

  • My grandfather was in the SS panzer division, and he was no monster, everyone wanted to be in the ss, the elit, like the amercan Marines. young boys no monster, my grandfather had a god heart.

  • @Sweden2351 As a Marine veteran I resent any comparison of the SS as elite as the US Marines, and it's an insult to ALL Marines comparing us to Nazis !

  • @NamVetBuck . Understand my point, young boys always want to do the hardest most prestige thing, it was the same i germany in the 40 as now. and why i compared the marines is becous they have a world wide reputation as the elit. sorry for my bad spelling.

  • @NamVetBuck I respect the hell out of you for serving this country however i think it is wrong that you should condemn all members of the german army. obviously some were very evil but most of them were just serving their country, and im sure that the SS panzer division were very skilled fighters as were the marines

  • @chrisman223 I don't condemn the Wermacht at all. They served an evil Supreme Commander. The SS was a fanatical outfit . Waffen SS had a ferocious battle record, but it was dishonored by the atrocities it carried out during it's campaigns. Had the USMC been death camp guards, yet fight on victorious battlefields, the stain of the death camps would dishonor the Corps as a whole. The SS was NOTHING like the Marines ! We fight on land , sea, and in the air.

  • @NamVetBuck Ok thank you for just clarifying that a bit and for serving our country.

  • @chrisman223 You're welcome...and I salute all who did a tour of duty for freedom...

  • @NamVetBuck The SS are the murderers at that time, killing innocent civilians, imposing inhumane policies such as regardless of life of a million Jews, and other ethnic race in the name of there so called national socialism.

  • hey, Rest in peace American Troopers and Germany SS

i really respect those things what they have done.

  • My grandparents lived in Fort Robinson, Nebraska during WWII and got to know some German POW's. Sadly, most of them wanted nothing to do with the war, they were forced to fight or face death. They were amazed that they were treated so well and expected to be starved and beaten.

  • Yes, the wehrmacht werent the nazis, they were just like the US soldiers indeed.

SS and similair units, those were the jewkillers, not the wehrmacht

  • My respect goes to all you fought and died during the war. May they all R.I.P. WW2 is a war that we must never forget cause of all that was happening. Never have there been a war as global and with as many casulties.

  • The American loss of life in the Battle of the Bulge was over 19,000. Many of the soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in this horrendous battle were laid to rest at the American Cemetery in Luxembourg, where George S. Patton is buried. For more information about the war dead of the European Theater, I recommend "The High Price of Freedom: The American Graves Registration Command in Europe After World War II." You can download this ebook from the LULU website.

  • well i was thinking of my past grandfather an i watch these films thinking i might see a glimps of him .. i miss him so much .. he was 471st med div. he was a great capt. an loved his men.. just wanted to share my thoughts on this.. i am to young to know of the this.. but i do know i lost 6 ppl in my family due to this war..

  • @odenkiller Yea. To have a relative who fought and died during the war is something you should be proud of. Ofc it depend on what he did during the war aswell. I wouldnt exactly be proud if I had a relative who were in the SS and who might be responsible for several 100 of life. Either, you should be proud of your grandfather. Its impossible for us who havent experienced a war first person to even imagine what the soldiers were put through every day.

  • my granddad got the purple heart in this

  • Nazis didn't fight for freedom these men were disgusting pol for wat they did fuck them nd I hope they all burn in hell. No one can forgive them for wat they did

  • @MrUneedaKnow they were all bad.. but you have too look at it from ther side.. it was fght an follo orders.. or die.. so not all of them were assholes.. just the S.S., my grandfather told me he didnt get attackd by the standerd army.. but when the S.S. div was around they shoot at them every time they got a chance..

  • Deepest respect to those who fought for the freedom of the world. Without them = without us.

  • Was that a Panzer II I saw there? Did they have those in the Bulge?

  • @seaweed555 yes they did,.. not in large nubers.. but yes they had them

  • My g-pa fought here. Was in the 75th inf. aka the Bulge Busters. Fought at Parker's crossroads and his company was virtually destroyed. He got jacked in the neck not a mile from where his dad was shot in ww1. They both lived though and if they didn't I wouldn't be here haha. God bless all those who served and for all those who are going to serve!

  • it makes me quiete if watch this just so powerfull what's happend overthere i can't beleve it great honor too those men !

  • hey, good song. It touched my heart. What is the title of this song?

  • Comment removed

  • wow awesome video

  • I was there. God was it ever cold. I will always remember how cold we were. But we got a hot Christmas dinner thanks to General Patton. God bless that man.

  • You are a hero. God bless you

  • Thank you, but I was just one man of many,

  • @101stAirborneVeteran man,i respect you

  • Thank you. I appreciate your kind words.

  • lots of respect from England sir. True hero. I had a look at a king tiger tank which i think was at that battle, must of been terrifying face to face with that beast.

  • Mostly what you noticed first was the sound. Then the earth shaking. They are big, but they do burn nicely when hit.

  • Wow, you were really there? How incredible, so much respect to you sir, it's an honour to have you around.

  • Yes, I was there. It was colder than you can imagine, and the Nazis were fighting hard because it was their last chance to end the war on their terms. Thank you for the kind words.

  • @101stAirborneVeteran much respect to you sir.....must have been tough being there....god bless you all!!!

  • @101stAirborneVeteran god bless you and the soldiers that were there fighting along with on bolth sides

  • my grandad died in this ... r.i.p

  • may he rest in peace forever mate

  • A lot of good men on both sides died there, Your granddad gave his life in the cause of freedom. There is no greater honer,

  • @cossieftw wow man, i respect your grandad for serving in WWII. What was he? a paratrooper or soemthin?

  • @cossieftw mine grandads, dad died in this ass well

  • @cossieftw sorry for that:(((((

    R.I.P

  • @cossieftw my was there but survived

  • my friends great uncle was in the marines from 1942 to mid 1944 when he got transfered to the 106th infantry division because of marine height limits catching up with him. in the bulge his regiment got captured on the first day and he narrowly escaped the malmedy massacre by running away to a retreating armored regiment. sucks to have to go through that after going through tons of pacific battles. he lived through the war though.

  • the germans are the beste soldiers

  • yes. Are best soldiers in the world

  • "were"

  • I am an american ... and yes the germans were the best soldiers. And so were us Americans, and the Brits, and the Soviets, and everyone who fought in the war. Because they all fought for their family and their country and they all went through hell. In ww2 no soldier were better then the others, They were all great. So to all of you who say their countries soldiers were the best, you are idiots, And you have no idea what war really is.

  • @therock17024 you're right, but not all germans were as good as the allies, there were many many good germans, but many evil too... you can't denie that..

    sorry for my english

  • very nice video 5*

  • Comment removed

  • its not the germans.. its their leaders.. the german people just had to follow their orders.. just like any other country.

  • is this the same song as the end of we were soldiers?

  • Chill out, no bodys glorifying these events but if I had lived through them and lost my life in this moment I would want to be remembered and hopefully never forgotten because thats a scary thought. Plus this single battle was tough and remarkable for the ally's especially because it was the coldest winter on record, it had one of the only american version of a banzai charge, they screamed Geronimo. Produced a medal of honor soldier killed close to 200-300 men in one battle and captured 1.

  • The German army was at its worst in Russia

  • amen

  • war is not good, man is a tough arse

  • My great uncle was in this battle he was wounded. To all you people whom glorify these types of things fuck you all. I hope you don't have to live through things like that.

  • im happy for your uncle that he made it thru that hell

  • LOSERLARRY no one gives a shit about your fucking views ok

  • sut u Loserlarry ur a racist shit u were'nt there so how do u know wtf shut up

  • Churchill sold out the eastern countries to the USSR, I'm glad that miserable pig is belly up.

  • Christ man, German troops were just like are GI's it's the Nazis, SS, and SA that were the real bastards

  • Read about those regular german troops and what they did in Russia.

  • and what did the russians with the german troops?

  • in response to what the Germans did

  • killed them all which they came across or put them in labour camps, shame really they were just soldiers like us

  • Ahh they killed them i believe.

  • @mullinator7 Yea, there was a big fucking difference from the Wermacht and the SS. Wermacht were normal soldiers, patriots JUST like the british, the russian and the american army. The SS however (and the SA and Gestapo) were the god damn nazis who are to blame for the war.

  • @pepparmostheelder i thought the wermacht was german infantry and the s.s. was hitlers elite soldiers

  • @ironman9182 Well yea you are correct. But its also important to know that most of the soldiers in Wermacht weren't nazis. They were regular soldiers just like many of the soldiers in the red army wasnt communists. I just hate when people go out and say that all germany were nazis and their entire army was. Because it wasn't. Apperently people think you couldnt be a german patriot without being a nazi. There is a big difference to loving your country and to hate all other "races", religions etc.

  • @mullinator7 Those motherfuckers killed my great great uncle in that battle.

  • @mullinator7 dude all german soilders were Nazis...Nazis wern't bad well like you said they are just like our GI's, it was the SS and SA that were bad, all German soilders were classified under Nazis...like German soilders that were drafted=Nazis

  • @falloutfacts SS were Nazis . And no the Germans weren't all classified as Nazis. Their GI's were classified as Wermacht. Get your facts right before you post shit on a video

  • @AirsoftRaccoon Dude im not posting shit on anyones videos, what I was trying to say was that there soilders were just as human as ours , its a misconception that nazis are bad because when people think of nazis they think of Germany, the German soilders who fought and died in world war 2 deserve the same amount of respect as any other allied soilder, it's the German soilders apart of the holocaust that were bad. The soilders who faught and died for there country were not. Sorry about this.

  • @falloutfacts Sorry for being an ass about it. I agreewith you

  • @AirsoftRaccoon ya sorry for my incorrect facts, anyways sorry again, no disrespect once so ever(:

  • @falloutfacts I'm sorry too :)

  • long live Germany

  • germany surrendered twice !! hahaha they are a nation of losers and a visit to Aushwitz shud be compulsory for all germans god bless winston churchill

  • HAHA the british didnt do shit in that war HAHA

  • what's the name of the music?

  • Hey why dont you grow up calling every German a murdering *unt, get a life why dont you.

  • You're pretty much retarded, arent you LOSERLARRY?

  • You've got to wonder why ordinary men fight in wars when the few 'elite' men that they are caused and endorsed by sit back and reap the rewards. It is not American's, Russian's, German's, Iraqi's or Brits that are to blame, it is those who control Governments, countries, money and Religion. Watch Zeitgeist-open your eyes!

  • dude i love you !!

i watch that video before AND it opened my world!!

  • Not quite, you see Hitler started the war to take back what was rightfully German territory. If France and England wouldn't have declared war on Germany Hitler would have left Westeren Europe alone besides national socialism is a form of nationalism do you really think that after he got rid of the jews in Germany he'd want to make a multicultural reich. Maybe some of you should look up what national socialism is all about and take a look at mein kampf to see what Hitler is all about.

  • I doubt Hitler would have left France alone under any circumstance. He considered France land lost during WW1 and wanted to avenge the loss.

  • I wonder why he invaded Russia..surely Russia had not taken any German land?....or did Hitler just want to take the Russian agriculture and minerals?...Doesn't seem to fit your theory?

Of course I'm sure you have a valid reason for Hitler invading Russia?...I wonder what Norway and Denmark and a few others done to Hitler to offend him? All these silly questions when now they are just academic.

  • America didn't liberate Europe, they only drove back the Germans so that they could occupy Europe in a cowardly way. Those that live in Europe should know what i mean, what has become of our great European history and culture? In the past 60 years western Europe has become nothing more than a copy of the USA. They took advantage of western Europe's situation, they gived us huge ammounts of money (Marschallplan) but not for our good, it was nothing more than a way to Americanise us.

  • In proper American Standard English, your last words should read "Americanize us", since that would be inkeeping with "Americanization". Ah, but you WOULD be speaking German right now had Americans (and more importantly, Russians)NOT intervened. I would hardly say that the sacrifice of the Allies (regardless of country) in liberating Europe would ever be considered "cowardly" by anyone's standards. (Wir sollen die zweite Krieg nicht vergessen. . . )

  • I think if it was up to Roosevelt he would have stayed out of the war completely if he could have. And I hear some people criticize the US for not getting involved sooner. Then when the US does get involved we have to be doing it for our own purposes. I guess you just can't win.

  • this is proper war , not like we have todays . havin served in iraq myself ,

  • It was declared war under Art. 1, Sec. 8, Cl. 10 of the U.S. Constitution. It was justifiably delcared--the Axis violated the first principle of national sovereignty--the right to exist as a separate but equal nation, an independent nation among the powers of the earth.

  • Thanks for uploading, what song is this?

  • Far beyond the question of government's madness or motivations, comes the tales of thousands of young men from another time, a past time where fundamental values still had a meaning... this short video has moved me a lot. I was very sad and disapointed to discover some of the comments... it's such a shame...

    An eternaly GRATEFULL shithole inhabitant

  • lofaszt, I wonder if WW2 Americans would have known what a ungrateful shithole europe has become, would they have just sat it out, and let hitler and his thugs rule over you. I doubt it, because they where better people than you could ever hope to become. It's sad how you disrespect people who deserve nothing but praise, along with everyone world wide who stood up to put down evil.

  • I am proud to be an American. And I am proud to be from the same country that so many of these brave men came from. These are men that not only fight to liberate others in different countries but fight so that we ourselves are free. For those making the stupid comments I pray that God in someway shows you humility it is something this generation lacks greatly. IF you do not know what humility means(b'cuz I doubt you do) Look it up in the dictionary(thats a book).

  • This comment was touched my heart.. I'll cry soon... you have the money for God's sake...

You are no better than any other nations just have more money..

You are about 300 millions which is about 5% of population of the earth (you know the planet where we live) and you using 60% of resources of the planet!

    Brave and humility nation...

"Fight to liberate others" :) korea, vietnam, irak?

    You should think!

There are many nations on this planet, many brave and older nations! Think and be humble!

  • I am Belgian and to all off who read this message and know some1 that fought in the war , and to all those men who fought for our freedom i say Thank You! may your brave hearts never be forgotten!

and thank God that people make such films.

    thank you!

  • minimanoekoe - i can drink to that

    Thank god for the allies...

  • so what fault do the German soldiers who died defending their country have in this?

  • They weren't defending their country...they were attacking Europe and exterminating Jews and others. Then we came in with others to rid the job they were doing. We didn't start it you uneducated piece of shit.

  • no they were not defending there country you idiot!!!! who attacked them!!! as far as i know it was the nazis attacking the world!

  • minimanoekoe my grandpa fought in the battle of the bulge in belguim he had a tommy gun with a 50 round drm snuck up on 20 germans hosed em all down killed them all thn he pissed on 1 dead germans face he survived the war

  • and your proud?

  • My Gradpa was only 16 in this battle then he joined the 184th artillery and was woudend and was'nt able to get to the states he got back up just said to his troops "Kill every German in sight only take waffen prsooner."

  • jojo, there is a huge monument called the 'mardasson memorial' in bastogne in honor of your grandpa and every other american GI who took part in the liberation of belgium.

  • XDd the best music XD

  • the best misic

  • wats the music?

  • The "Manisons of the lord" from We were soilders once, and young

  • I left some comments down below also, I DON'T KNOW IF YOU READ THEM.

  • no sorry ive been busy i didnt check any of these till i got the email with this message.

  • Take Care, Darrang, nice debating with you.:)

Are you Canadian or just living in Canada??

  • nice debateing with you aswell. yes i am canadian.

  • The Nazis were the most brutal military in history for what they did to the Jews and other civilians. Japanese weren't to far behind though. They both deserved what they got, they started the war and they faced the consequences of war after.

  • the americans british and russians cannot be excluded from extreme military barbarism my friend. the saturation bombing of civilian infrastructure soley for the purpose of killing the population was not first introduced by the germans it was actually the british. but the scale it got to at the end of the war with both the raf and usaf you cannot deny it should be one of the wars biggest war crimes.

  • Nobody's perfect even the USA with all our freedoms isn' perfect.

  • LOL the u.s is the furthest thing from being perfect, matter of fact I would say the u.s is one of the worst first world countries to live in today

  • Sens45, your right we are not perfect, nobody is but God. Well ,what do you expect we have sick twisted people that attacked the USA and on 9/11 and believe they will go to heaven with the 70 virgins and eat candy bars for eternity after they carry out their suicide missions. We are at war, things are not always pleasant when you are at war. When we are at peace this is the best country to live in.

  • not to mention the "patriot" act which takes away the basic rights and freedoms of a democracy. The u.s is nowhere near a democracy today. You may have free elections but all your other basic rights of a democracy have been taken away from you. you wanna know the REAL best country to live in during peace? Germany 1933-1940

  • name a few rights that have been taken away. FACIST

  • hey nazi! suck my cock!

  • Funny how sens is a Canadian Nazi sympathizer. Don't waste your time with this anti-semitic peice of garbage. God Bless America.

  • and i really think you need to start to broaden your education on "nazis" as it wasnt just a mob of all the same. there was different organizations with different purposes. the nazis were a politcal party. the german army was not the nazis. and the politcal wing which controlled the camps was the allgemeine ss. which was actually very different from the waffen ss which were combat units. read about it. its like everyone running around calling the americans the repubs or something.

  • Yes, I know that but the German soldiers fought to benefit the Nazi party in its conquest of the world.

  • Um, quite possibly because they where ordered to do so. A soldier cant exactly say "nah i dont want to fight"

  • Our worst defeat to the Nazis in WW2 was at Kasserine Pass. Most of all the battles in the air, sea, and ground between Americans and Nazi troops were won by Americans. Now at OMAHA BEACH during D-DAY our casualties were higher than the Germans because we had to take a FORTIFIED position and involved the toughest resistance of the initial landings. Fighting the Nazis was like hell but when we engaged them we won almost all the time.

  • what hitler expected has nothing do with reality i think everyone knows that. so stop baseing your analysis on what hitler "thought"

fact is that it wasnt the hard fighting of a few tiny pockets of resistance that haulted the germans. it was lack of fuel. they RAN out of it! peiper had to destroy somewhere around 80 of his own tanks just a few days into the fight because they had run out of fuel! (continued)

  • Yeah, but we were fighting the Japanese heavily in the Pacific so we couldn't concentrate ALL OUR FORCES to fighting the Nazis. And who were the two best militaries that became superpowers after the war. THE UNITED STATES AND SOVIET UNION, the two militaries that did the most damage to the Nazis, Britain did too, but they declined after WW2. IF it was just a war between the UNITED STATES AND The NAZIS. I believe we would have had the edge.

  • also almost every division sent into the fight was understength, some vastly. and many divisions were predominantly volksgrenadier. around 250,000 germans attacked in the ardennes. and at first out numbered the americans 3 or 4 to 1 but it wasnt long before the americans were 500,000 strong in the area. if that and the fuel fiasco doesnt scream lack of production as a reason for such devistateing loss i dont know what does buddy.

  • We had great industrial capacity. We had a better airforce and navy, we had one of the top ten generals in the history of warfare(Patton) and determined men who would not accept defeat on the ground. I consider the Nazis the best military that was ever defeated. They steamrolled mostly all of Europe. They were not able to defeat Britain, Soviets, or USA OVERALL however. Peace is the only way, their are no winners in war morally.

  • weve come to an agreement here i think. :)

  • Bottom line.....Wars are real Fked- up!

  • and also, dude no one is trying to say the americans didnt win the war. they definatly didnt lose!

but in a scenario where the wehrmacht at its strongest and best equipped with its best soldiers were to face an equal in size and equiped american unit during ww2... the americans would get smashed. the german army and its soldiers of ww2 are still revered by many a military historian to be the best and most powerful army of all time.

  • luckily for the allies the germans didnt go into total war production till 1943 i think it was. the allies stepped up bombing significantly in 44 and 45. destroying much of what could be used.frightening as it is tho, the germans still produced more each subsequent year until 1945. but that margin pales in comparrison to what russia and the western allies produced.(continue)

  • cant win a war with virtue and hopes and dreams either... if it took determination and will power alone the germans would have won, flat out. there was no nation more determined to win that war than the germans, especially when the tides turned. think how hard you would fight to keep your enemys from getting airfields close enough for bombers to take off and inncinerate your loved ones. or from entering your town and rapeing them? american soldiers didnt have to worry about that.

  • fuck i hate to be a part of the bickering so i will stop. there is little point. there are people who know what theyre talking about and will defend it and then there are people who will defend anything they hear the most about. i really respect this video and the men who served in that war, and im happy there is others who do aswell. god bless.

  • The air power in the Bulge happened when the weather cleared and was needed to take out German Positions to go from the defensive to the offensive. Then we had to still fight on the GROUND to push the Nazis back 60 miles to where the original American lines were before the offensive began. Hitler expected a total rout but that didn't happen did it.

  • for anyone with less than required comprehension; that means that air power played a large roll for americans POST the 2-3 days of bad flying weather the germans were able to enjoy during the battle of the bulge. funny how the americans appear to have been slaughtered without their wingmen?

  • Your wrong Darrang, we had to prevent a total rout because it was an UNEXPECTED major offensive by the Germans. Hitler expected our soldiers to run home to their mommies because of the enormity of the offensive 25-30 German divisions but eventhough a Bulge was created we stayed and fought in miserable conditions and slowed Nazi advance and inflicted casualties which frustrated the Nazis BEFORE the weather cleared and we were outnumbered at times BASTOGNE for example(continued)

  • The Soviets did have the most deaths 27 million most which were civilians. But just because you have the most casualties doesn't mean you contributed the most. I also like to corrct my spelling on the previous comment (Off and Primary Sorry).

  • Glory of both armies!!Im hungarian..

  • also everytime you hear it was much harder on the eastern front you need to believe it because it is the total truth. one thing that made life alot nicer for the western allies was their overwhelming air superiority come the time of actual invasion. the eastern front had no total superior in the air.

but non the less youre correct, war is still hell no matter where you die.
