its a program that digitally makes your voice a certain pitch, you can make it so that it keeps your voice in the right key or just change any note you sing to any note you want.

If you are singing slighty out of pitch it will correct it. Also if you tune your settings, you can get that "t-pain" effect (:

Yeah, it's pretty much corrects any anomalies in your voice so that it sounds pitch perfect. It basically allows sound engineers and artists to correct stuff they don't think went as they wanted it to. The problem is that because it makes the sound perfect, it removes any individuality from the sound, so thats why a lot of artists now sound so similar. Imagine Bob Dylan singing like T-Pain and you see the problem ;-)

The chords are Am, C, F, and G. That is all I play the whole time.

I use the Antares AVP-1 rack mounted unit to simulate the autotune. You can also buy the software from Antares. I would recommend doing a google or a youtube search on how autotune works. There is a lot of information on both sites that explains how it works.
