  • @MrScar665 Yes you're surely right, I just wanted to say that capoeira isn't dance and can be a very good style of fight

  • コレ友達が上手いw

  • tsss.. i can block that just hold the back button

  • @indiana5588 poor guy... Capoeira is better than muay thaï if you have a good level.

  • @Iserax No style is better than other

  • The Brazilian Kick is a Kyokushin Kaikan Karaté Ottoshi Mawashigiri

  • impossible to block

  • It's a great kick if it connects you.I was knocked out by a roundhouse kick. The timing was there and it connected me.Good Night

  • this kick if used right can be effective..its more of a trick, u fake low then go high...tricks a person to lower the hands as if they r gonna block a rib shot, i have used it in sparring and people run right into it

  • What a shit?! Every idiot can do that - to kick a hanging bean bag. It comes from TKD, but the technique is poor. You can use it only from the distance, in practice - useless. Brazilian "martial art" is good for dancing :)) Capoeira = disco show :)) hehe

  • @indiana5588

watch filho and feitosa use this kick in K-1....they're from karate but since brazilians used this kick a lot of in tournaments it's called the brazilian kick. It doesn't come from capoeira but from brazilian fighters

  • @cougher989 I strongly disagree...The delivery system does matter, 9 out of 10 times! A point fighting style lacking most if not all of the high percentage fundamentals of a full contact style, will make little difference against it's full contact counterpart.

  • That's great!!! I watched some idiot demonstrate his tkd roundhouse kick, on another video.

I wish this demonstrator could brazilian kick that idiot in the head! Lol

  • @0713mas

It really doesn't matter how you kick or what style you come from. If you're a good fighter, you're a good fighter.

  • Awesome

  • I MUST LEARN TO DO THIS >:0

  • A hard kick to do correctly , but great if you can puill it off!

  • its just a round kick, theres nothing brazillian about it, but good tutorial

  • When done correctly, no can defend.

  • i find it hilarious how people like to sit around and argue about what to call the kick.

Anyhow Thanks for the torturial i sometimes am in the mood for torturials that talks me threw things but at other times i'm in the mood for a Nice Silent Torturial that gets directly to the point Very good job Great torturial.

  • thumbs up if you wanted to see this after watching a fighting manga (like holyand or something else)

  • hey what do you do for flexability to be able to kick that high, any tutorial vids?

  • @MentalWeapon You stretch for 30 minutes every day. You do all different kinds of stretching techniques, it will take weeks but after a while you will notice how flexible you have gotten.

  • @lilsm555 thank you for replying

  • why brazilian

here in brazil we dont call this like this

  • kicks ass!

  • so this is Brazilian kick?? man! i use it every time. It dodges ur oppo. way 2 much....

  • Comment removed

  • is it just me or the kick at 0:28 has no fake or it's just too fast for me

  • hihÌ_Åñý_gÛys_wÂNt_tÖ_chÀt_wîth_më

  • this is a grate kick, when you use it u can kill people XD

  • Thanks for the video. The highlighted areas make it easier to see the finer points of this kick's execution.

  • is sanda kick

  • Much easier than the normal Round-kick

  • Seanbaby's '10 Most Insane Acts of Violence in Kickboxing History' sent me here, and he's right - it looks like the thigh and the shin cant agree on what they're doing.

  • It's sort of like watching someone set up for an epic toribash attack...kinda surreal

  • @mjcabooseblu toribash!

  • beautiful

  • This kick is also called the question mark kick, if I recall correctly

  • At first I was like -_-

but then when he kicked the bag I was like O_O

  • @Wurby That's called being effective.

  • Holy fuck, he just did a feint with one leg. How many people have seriously blown out there knees just ATTEMPTING this insanity?

If I could train myself to do this I would start fights to use it.

  • @Dangturtle: Yeah man, most trick kicks and fancy kicks are bullshit, but I can really see people getting their mind fucked with this kick. It comes up just like a front, then BAM! Roundhouse entree right in your jaw!

  • @Dangturtle I tried doing it in my bedroom. Now my upper thigh buuuurns.

  • @Dangturtle nothing to do with your knee but it does stretch the hip though you must work lots of hip rotator stretches

  • yay cracked.com

  • That kick is the definition of ninja.

  • Stop call it Brasillian kick,they did not invent it;

made famouse by TV? may be but still do not deserve the name. Its been used for centuries [no TV then]

Because one Stupid commentator on TV

  • @yimmiytube the japanese started to call it brazilian kick because of Feitosa's and Filho's use of it. And those guys have karate style. They arent taking the credit for it. calm down. They made the kick famous so it is a contribution to the sport.

  • Hey Kyryllo? I don't have the flexibility to do this so I was wondering if you'd be able to do a spinning roundhouse kick into a brazilian kick.

Like instead of doing the roundhouse kick after you've spun, you did a brazilian kick instead. If you could film that and put it up, that would be awesome 'cause I'd love to see how it works :)

  • Not bad. Not often I see good pivot and hip rotation in a kick.

  • Wow... you make this look so easy! Getting height AND power, then centering for next move with this one is kinda tricky. Excellent demo!

  • It's called a question mark kick!!! Tomas RIos is a faggot!!!

  • this kick really works do it all the time in practice its all about setting it up though..

  • bruce lee used these

  • It's a fake front to round kick. Effective if fast enough.

  • 1 kick 1 knock out

belive in me... i got one in my face ¬¬ ... no time for reaction.

  • this kick is so tricky if u were defending ... i was sparring with my sensi in order to improve my reaction ... i got hit many times with this kick by this 1 the most ... of course he didn't complete it but he kept slapping me on the cheek with his foot -.- ... btw im a kyokushin student ... OSU ..

  • Bullshit

  • Is it any different if you do it with your lead leg?

  • @MrBadzooka no i think the only little difference would be that you would have to do it with bit of a skip

  • @ballasauce666: i do agree with u that u may lose ur frontballance or position but even when u close or defend ur head from the braziliankick he cant kick u betwen ur arms. and not if u kick with power or ''Mawashi'' 1 thing is sure: try bouth of them, Mawashi geri and brazilin if 1 dosent work the other 'll. gl.

  • dont do this kick too much!!! it isnt good for u knees

  • @imsoren12321 why should it be bad for your knees?

  • @fopperer because the knee jerks when doing this move

  • thx! this help me a lot! now im clear

  • That kick works well if you don't use it too often.

  • fun fact for you another term is round kick

  • since i do tkd ITF, its important to mark points, not do a KO so its my most used kick.

always gets to even just touch the head(which is enough in itf) and thats 3points

    thanks for the video

  • this tutorial did not show me how to make this kick because i thought you had to front kick into a brazilian kick but turns out you have to kick the groin and THEN make the turn

  • why its called BRAZILIAN..?

  • This is a good kick and is capable to trick people sometimes. Most people would think , "ah... hes coming for my bottom and im gonna block my bottom " but however the kick hits his upper like the head and thus tricked.

  • Horoshaya tehnika... vse odnim dvijeniem... molodca!!!

  • This kick is good. It worked great for Feitosa.

  • excellent but it would be better if u do it with a better guard of ur hands!

  • Feitosa should do the tutorial.

  • @ballsauce666 It's funny how people can write, but seem to be completely incapable of reading.

  • @kyryllo

    .

yeah, I did not read description til now.

    .

but we agree on the key points I guess.

    .

  • @kyryllo Kick seriously works, hit em' with a front kick to the gut, the perform this kick, they'll attempt to block the front kick to the torso and stay open, I've done this in kickboxing, and in taekwondo.

  • @kyryllo man dont pay him any attention, my understanding of foot techs are lets just say are worth my weight in gold and then some. Its hard to find people to match my speed and dynamics at any weight class ( Im a superheavy weight). No BS here, Im speaking in all humility and fact. Whats the point? U have got great vids here and great kicks, let no one tell u otherwise. I applaud u for trying to educate people out of your own time. BRAVO

  • @kyryllo Hahahaha..Ownt.

  • @ballsauce666

Go say that to Glaube Feitosa, you noob.

  • @ballsauce666 'Use the kick if the opponent is backing up or is very defensive, also to end a combination. Don't use it if your opponent is known for rushing, shortening the distance or direct countering.' Gj there buddy, you deserve a darwin award

  • @PardonMySanity

    .

You deserve an award for attacking someone after they admit to not have read the description previous to posting.

    .

    Good job there chimp

    .

  • @ballsauce666 the dangling is a fake you fucking idiot people use this kick in full contact ring sport it works there whats your problem with it

  • @ballsauce666 That's because you have no notion of strategy. "I prefer bla blah blah" doesn't mean shit when you in a fight.

  • @ballsauce666 glaube feitosa, watch him, c the power of the brazilian kick

  • @ballsauce666 against any technique there is a counter, any strike against your opponent leaves you vulnerable to a counter. In full contact fighting you will get hit, thats a fact of life.

Its a matter of knowing when to use the technique to gain the result you want. The kick is being used effectivly at the highest level of competion, K1 & Kyokshinkai so it is a "combat tested kick"

  • @ballsauce666 i c what your saying but there are ways of using this kick i myself no because i have used this in competition it does work

  • @ballsauce666 This kick is a subtle variant in the round kick from TKD. I've seen something similar with more of a pop on the lower section to make the lower kick have more realism to it. Unless you're trained to look for this I promise you that you won't be seeing it. It's so much faster than you think when watching a video.

  • @ballsauce666 /watch?v=5cNUkGhV2q4&NR=1 easyer to block eh?... It's deceiving, so.... no - just watch.

  • @ballsauce666 yeah im not sure why he sticks his leg up like that it looks like he's going for a groin kick Glaube Feitosa makes it like he's goin for a front/push kick and as far as im concerned he does it the best

  • @ballsauce666 then your arsenal is limited idiot both types of kicks have their time nd place to be applied I guess that's why your commenting negative on youtube instead of in the pros huh loser

  • The only thing correct in the description is that is causes a defensive reaction, it works best that way and anywhere in the ring, Keep doing punch, leg kick combos and then fake to the leg and whip it over top, I guarantee 90% of people you fight or spar will drop their hands thinking it's another mid kick or low kick.

  • Feitosa kicks straight as an arrow.

  • I can't see the difference from the mawashi geri and the brazilian kick. The brazilian kick you have to put your back lower? Or turn the feet on the ground 90 degrees instead of 45? please someone explain :)

  • if i could do that i would count now many KOs thanks for uploading

  • nice dojo you got there.

  • this kick is used best for tricking an opponent, it looks like you're kicking low but it pops out of nowhere to your face. it's perfect trickery

  • Thank you for this video! Haha somebody did this to my head twice today, and I wanted to learn it! Solid kick, dude.

  • wtf this is sinmply a way of doing the roundhouse

  • @pointfighter its more a feint low roundhouse snap high its not exactly just a simple variation

  • @pointfighter funny... but seriously...

  • Lets clear some things up here.

Japanese called it the "Brazilian kick" because of Francisco Filho and Glaube Feitosa using it so well in Kyokushin (IKO1) and K-1 competition. Ademir de Costa and his fighters use this kick but weren't as succesfull with it as Filho and Feitosa.

It's known as kube geri, maha geri, and other names. It is also done in muay thai and known as a "crocodile tail's whip kick" and in TKD by other names, too.

please don't talk about stuff you have no idea about OSU!

  • @funkyb302009 wiiiiiiiiiise up!

how gay are you in -im-goin-2-giv-ur-ma-a-slap volts?

  • @HowTheCookieCrumbls

You are the biggest idiot to ever post. Please jump up and down on your computer, cookie. You'll do mankind a favor.

    Osu!

  • @funkyb302009 well said!

  • @funkyb302009 it's apdolyo chagi tkd pal,but little different but when coming to kick to the head it's same this,u got good knowledge on martial arts

  • @funkyb302009 otoshi mawashi geri in japanese usually - literally drop turn kick

  • @funkyb302009 And just like the Brazilians were so much better then the Japanese in Jui Jitsu, they let them put Brazilian in front of jui jitsu ...Who cares of its origins or thats its been around since Gluaube and Filho were still babies....Didnt you also here Steven Segal invented the front kick...

  • The brazilian kick is done with the front leg.

This is done with the back leg.

It's karate kick that is shown here

  • It can be done with the back or front.

  • LOL yeh the brazilian kick a karate kick man... mostly kyokushin karate kick. LOL i cant believe you thought this was actually just called "a karate kick" hahah The thing that makes it the "brazilian kick" is the same front or rear leg

  • The name is Mae Mawashi Kubi geri, it was invented by Kancho Ademir da Costa, hence why it is called brazillian kick.

No, it is not a normal kick. If there is such a thing as a normal kick, i suppose it would be a mawashi geri.

  • Brazilian kick lol - the brazilians seem to be taking credit for everything lately. kind of like grappling on the ground... i'm pretty sure hwarang-do had been doing that long before BJJ... BJJ refined it even more, but still... they need to relax on taking claims to everything

  • Yes, the last part of the kick IS a roundhouse kick. But, whereas orthodox roundhouse kicks chamber the knee at a 45 degree angle, this one brings the knee straight up as if to throw a front kick. It is a trick, intended to mask the roundhouse. It was named 'Brazilian kick' by the Japanese media because of its effective use by Brazilian fighters such as Feitosa. Whether it was invented in Brazil I've no idea, but who knows - it could well have been.

  • but then again its not the brazilians that name it that. when the gracie refined their jujutsu they called it gracie jujutsu.

  • lol its not like the guy who started using it first decided it would be called the brazilian kick. And read some books from the gracies... they dont claim to invent anything. they were just geniuses at promoting their style

  • xDD

an round kick not more with 20 thausends pictures of same made

  • fake low to high roundhouse i think every style that includes high kicks has a name or variant

  • in the korean arts---that is a chopkick.

  • AHA! wow, i didn't think it had an official name. I figured this out while trying to learn a scorpion kick. If you thrust the top of your foot out more it can slip right between a boxer's guard

  • ?? boxers have more than 1 type of guard

do u mean the classic guard?

  • @jbo13x Yes sorry, i meant when they are covering up their face and backing up, but he pretty much said that in his info about the video. most people don't expect a kick to come from above.

  • "Brazilian Kick"? This is pretty much just a roundhouse kick. maybe slightly modified..

  • this is a verry good kick you fake with your leg and with the same leg you hit him with a high kick even throug he thinks its a middle kick if you are not wel trained you would get hit and you would not even know what happend thnx for the tutorial

  • Nothing new here, why is it called "Brazilian"? The Thai and anyone who kickboxes full power has kicked this way since forever.

  • called a "brazilian" kick because a couple of brazilians, glaube feitosa and another popularized it in the sport of kick boxing. so the name just sorta took.

  • They learned it in Brazil, didn't they?

  • maybe the brazilians were the first people to walk the earth

  • very easy tutorial! thanks!

  • If your gonna kick in a downwards motion like that, make sure you're flexible enough to kick to the head or collar bone!

  • we are taught this kick in tkd to make somebody think we are going to front kick them and then we roundhouse thier ass

  • its what i use it for!!!

  • glaube feitosa

  • sorry. i read wrong.

  • thats also taught in Kyokushin class. i remember learning it as a kid

  • That is awesome.

  • d+ muy bueno!

  • Whoa, that's cool. It looked pretty smooth, too.

  • this is different than the muay thai style of the kick, but they both have different uses. is it possible to do this attack with your shin, or is it foot only?

  • it's shin all the way, hitting with the foot in full contact is a no-no, you can break your toes

  • thought so.

  • tell that to Glaube Feitosa, he does it all the time!

  • we can't be all glaube feitosa now, can we. if ce kicks with the foot he probably knock somebody out, if i do it, and i don't use the shin, there is a big risk of m breaking my toes

  • well he trained himself for that kind of kick, didn't he? You cant just go to full contact sports and use leg kicks! I know what you're trying to tell me, and I tell you that with various exercises and hard work your feet, also and toes will be more endurable. Check out few videos on yt, and you'll know what I'm talking about. Cheers mate

  • excellent tutorial and a fantastic kick. Looks like your getting some decent power in that as well. thank you

  • tht wud prolly fuck u up pretty good

  • Putting your legs up for this amount of time for this kick will put ya in risk of a potential leg-trip, single leg-takedown.

This is just my point of view.

  • What's with the random insults I sometimes see here? They look like bunch of jealous retards or some attention freak.

  • Красота!!!!

  • i was expecting a bunch of long comments debating about how good or bad this kick was and which martial arts is best, but wow, not what i expected. XD

btw, this kick was awesome. at my taekwondo school, we call it z-kick.

  • One of my TKD instructors is a Phenom at Olympic Style Sparring. He is from brazil, and uses this kick and variations of it to head kick at will. He has been helping me with it lately, I really want to perfect this kick.

  • my buddy does this kick all the time when were sparring, it really tricks you he gets me with it most of the time lol, its a sick technique

  • lol so simple yet great instructional vid

  • why is it called brazillian kick?

  • just made famous since it was used by 2 brazilians. its a karate kick.. but these to brazilians were using it to kick everyone in the face in big name tournaments. lol.

  • yea, that mess works. i use teeps or low leg kicks to set up the downward rhythm then pop my shin on their face.

  • otoshi mawashi geri

  • sir, can you make a tutorial about wheel kick?

  • wat style is this from i see this alot in kyokushin karate???

  • i was thinking the same thing

  • yea but is it though i dont htink iv ever seen ths in muay thai?

  • "Maha mawashi geri" Made famous by Francisco Filho and Glaube Feitosa in k-1

which i think are brazilians.. Hense. Brazilian kick..

  • k thnks but that still doesnt answer if its Karate or muay thai?

  • sorry.. both style have this kick.. but you see it alot more in Karate point fighting.. In karate point fighting you cant punch the face but you can kick any part of the body. so they show you low kick and go for KO high kick.. NASTY kick.. very fast and deceptive.

  • karate is the answer

  • Awesome!

  • Huh ? This guy is from Germany :P

  • Brazilians are not commies, cubans are, you dumbass!

  • not talking about brazilian.

  • i don't like when people talk all this shit....like they do it.....all i have to say is to tape yourself doing it and put it up on youtube....then say this how you do it....prove it!! don't talk about

  • i love it

  • ripped off., american kickboxing, brazillian juijitsu jewish fried pork?? kyukushin and many more. brazillian bushido?

  • 60 year old and less styles are all copy.and paste style -read the history.

  • you take advantage from the stupid commentators that call it brazillion kick and neglect any truth that it is not the original brazillian kick ,and is not only for kk kai .kkk always copy others but say that mas oyama thinks of everything ,everything is originals pure crap.
