Thanks to the increased demand for goats milk and milk derivatives due to vegetarians and lactose intolerant people, the vast majority of newborn billy goats get killed within 24 hours of being born in the UK due to them being a financial strain on the farmers.

If that were true, billies would either be killed or not, completely independent of milk demand. In fact, if demand grew considerably, the number of premium billies would increase in order to increase doe population and milk output. If they are truly killing them, they may give them away to you as a pet.
